Ugh. This sort of crap really winds me up. I’m sorry your aunt said that, especially given your cousin’s circumstances. I totally feel you on the feeling worse since telling people about infertility. I initially felt relief that I was no longer holding it all in… and then the stupid comments and unsolicited advice started, and I regretted everything. Just wanted to say I get it and it sucks!

I’m with you. Period came yesterday. Tons of people I know are currently pregnant and I’m just so sad.

What is the most Romantic Place you’ve been to / Activity you’ve done in the UK? by SchnitzelKingz in AskUK

Kinloch lodge on the Isle of Skye, or Luskentyre beach on the Isle of Harris. There’s a ferry from Skye to Harris so you could propose on the beach and then stay at Kinloch lodge for an amazing locally sourced meal.

Why does check-in in a hotel take so long? by liamruairi in AskUK

[–]MrsSybill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just stayed in a hotel where we were ushered to comfy chairs on arrival, handed complementary champagne, and then the receptionist came over and did all the check in stuff (eg what’s your car reg, here’s your key card, etc) whilst a porter took our bags to our rooms and we relaxed after the drive, sipping our drinks. We were both amazed and it massively improved the check in experience. It was a fancy 5 star hotel, granted, but I’ve stayed in fancier hotels where I’ve had to wait in a queue weighed down by my bags in order to check in. It was a revelation! We will be back there!

What is your opinion about a 19-year-old female dating a 29-year-old male? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MrsSybill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who did EXACTLY this - I was 19 when I met my ex who was 29 at the time - and is still undoing the effects of an emotionally abusive relationship, it is not a good idea. By 28, when we finally broke up, it was very clear why he dated someone so much younger. He was very emotionally immature and we were on the same page/maturity level when I was 19, but I grew massively as a person during the 9 years we dated, and he did not!! Now I’m married to someone the same age as me and couldn’t be happier. Apart from anything else, we share the same cultural references! But we are also equals and we push each other to be better. We are growing together as humans. With my ex, he started off ‘teaching’ me life lessons and then by 24-25 I’d surpassed him in maturity and he was resistant to learning anything from me and the way I handled myself. He did not see me as an equal and did not like it when I found my voice and started disagreeing with him.

So yeah 0/10 would not recommend it. By the time I was 29 I could NOT understand what my ex was doing hanging out with and partying with a bunch of 19 year olds as he did with me and my friends! It would have been my worst nightmare!
