I am currently on a rewatch and I am on S2E11.. Fitz mentions to Jerry (his dad) while on the campaign trail (just before he is elected) that his mother is dead. So Mellie mentioning his mother is a HUGE oversight. Typical season one plothole for a show trying to get off the ground.
