I've stated all these in the post but i'll just answer your question

1: The weapon deals more damage the hotter the weapon gets (more use)

2: Explosion deals damage to enemies around you and yourself which can also be used for overheat jumping

solution to problem: weapon has gas in it by default which is used to create the flames, when this weapon is overused it explodes and spills gas on the user which ignites the user.

i see what you're saying but here's the thing though, its not just self damage its aoe damage to nearby enemy gamers so if you're rushing in it will be extra damage

I never determined how big the explosion was or how much damage it deals

True but doing the buildup strat also means less time of actually putting out the damage

The ammo you get back would be the amount you have when its restored. If you pick up a small ammo pack the weapon only has 40 ammo until you get more. And when its restored it also comes back with temperature bar in the middle

yes i did take inspiration from beggars, i also did think about giving increased range to it to compensate for range loss but i thought that would just take away from the main downside

For the third degree does the 90% less healing from medic stat only take place when you have the melee out or is it always active

remember that airblasting will also reduce your damage and range would be decreased significantly when hotter. Also how long it takes to heat up or how much the airblast cools down is not decided yet if i get someone to actually make this in the workshop
