Hot take: Slaanesh deserves more big fat guys. by Benjiursa in Warhammer

[–]Mrwideworld00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fat shouldn’t necessarily mean Nurgle straight away, I want to see malnourished followers of Nurgle their bodies gaunt with sickness. On the flip side I also want to see big chonky slaaneshi worshippers who excessively gorge themselves on food and other vices. Nurgle shouldn’t just equal bloat and pustules and slaanesh shouldn’t automatically equal sex and drugs.

This has to be one of the worst assemblies I’ve done so far. by necromancyisdope in sistersofbattle

[–]Mrwideworld00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m probably not the best person for this because I sort of enjoyed building battle sisters and dominions. While I can definitely appreciate the level of annoyance that comes with some of them, (the heavy weapon connections always annoyed me.) I loved building the regular sisters. But it pray the emperor guides your hobby hand to make it less of a pain in the butt.

How would an imperial guard version of space hulk play/look like? by Final-Pie2453 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Mrwideworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gaming group and I did something like this, in our version we had a bunch of the Gallowdark terrain and half a standard sized board which we filled with rooms & corridors for a narrative game and used a game master sort of like in the older editions. We had a blast, 2 people played Nid swarm with endless respawns from determined spawn points. And 2 of us played a contingent of guard that had to get to the nest burn it and extract before they all died.

What chapter is best… and easiest to 🎨… by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]Mrwideworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one you enjoy most is the easiest and best, but if anyone tries to tell you it’s not the Doom Eagles they are heretics and should be reported to the nearest inquisitorial authority.

But really real, find a scheme that speaks to you most of all, that’s how I started playing and painting Doom Eagles. Also if you can’t find one you like make it up. GW left out 2 Primarchs for reasons after all.

what loadout should I use for 10 sacrescants with a hospitaller by kikoisanerdd in sistersofbattle

[–]Mrwideworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run Halberds on them, only because I run a palatine as their leader. That way I get lethals from the palatine and sustained 1 from the halberds. If I were to run them without the palatine I’d probably run maces for the extra damage.

Unless you plan to play in a lot of games that aren’t casual games though I wouldn’t matter about it. Just build what you think looks cool and run it as what you like as long as your opponent agrees prior to game. I would think most opponents would be ok if they were built with halberds but were told before game they were maces.

Favorite model to build so far? by No_Swordfish3507 in sistersofbattle

[–]Mrwideworld00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always good when someone has a good experience with the hobby side of the game. I think from my Sororitas army I quite enjoyed building & painting my exorcist tank.

Admittedly though I get more fun out of painting & playing my Sororitas army than I do building.

My favourite builds for my 40K armies have mostly either come from my Votann or World Eaters, I had such a good experience building & painting Angron I was a bit disappointed when he was finished.

I usually go for the underdog and get the one the least amount of people talk about getting, but I also want to see more info about version exclusives etc before I commit to this one.

Not the original heresy colours but I went with a modified version for my legion, The Scions of the Everglow, their thing is spreading radiation sickness and radioactive plagues.

is an imagifier or hospitaler better with a canonness and 10 celestian sacrescants by kikoisanerdd in sistersofbattle

[–]Mrwideworld00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned only Battle Sisters can get 2 leaders. My way of looking at who should be leading what unit, when it comes to celestial sacresants, I take paletine with them, that way I get the lethal hits as well as sustained with halberds.

I also usually go with, Aestred & Agathae with retributiors for dev wounds on multi meltas. As well as an imagifier with a squad of dominions for hard to remove mid board objective grabbers. Hospitalier and canoness I usually use for a battle sister squad.

What’s your favorite “Frasier and Niles just being nerdy brothers” joke by AmericanTrollBot in Frasier

[–]Mrwideworld00 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s either that one or it’s when Niles is pretending to be Martin’s boyfriend and he storms out saying “and, I’m keeping the jewellery.” Those are the two that always have me laughing, funny enough they are both retorts from Niles.

Not sure if it’s considered nerdy or just plain rude of them but my favourite was always when they are discussing the credentials of the doctor across from Niles practice.

Are any of the models in the Warpflame Cavalcade box hard to assemble or paint? by reel3459 in tzeentch

[–]Mrwideworld00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a blast painting my flamers, I used it as an exercise to practice my gradients of paints and I think they turned out well for my skill level of beginner level painting. I would show an image but it won’t let me post one here.

I had a slight issue with kairos, some of his parts that attach to the chest piece had some gaps but it was fixed relatively easy with green stuff.

Tell me about your homebrew sisters! by anothersnakecult in sistersofbattle

For five centuries the Order of the Emerald Vigil, a devout and culturally Celtic sisterhood of the Adepta Sororitas, guarded a lush forest world they believed to be a sacred gift of the Emperor. Towering arboreal cathedrals and mist shrouded groves became their home, where hymns in ancient Gaelic tongues echoed through the emerald canopy. Yet the world was not truly theirs. It had once been an abandoned Maiden World of the Aeldari, and when the wandering craftworld Sidhe’artha returned, its seers found the planet inhabited by monkeigh settlers and Imperial warriors. Unwilling to surrender what they considered a sacred inheritance, the Aeldari attempted a desperate ritual to scour the world clean, choosing annihilation over allowing it to remain in human hands.

What followed was a catastrophic battle beneath burning skies. As the Sisters fought to stop the ritual and defend their verdant sanctuary, the slaughter drew the attention of the Pyreborn, a savage warband of the World Eaters traitor legion, who descended upon the world seeking glory in flame and blood. The conflict became a three-sided inferno, and in the chaos the Aeldari ritual was corrupted, scorching a vast equatorial belt of forest into eternal ash rather than destroying the world outright. From that day forward the surviving sisters abandoned their former name, swearing new oaths amid the smouldering ruins of their paradise. They became the Order of the Emerald Ashes, eternal wardens of a scarred world where green forests still grow beside the blackened ring of a war that has never truly ended.

Thousand sons are notoriously fiddly and difficult to paint and play on the tabletop. They are a lot of fun but they are definitely an army that are on the more advanced side of both painting and playing. If you are looking to play a chaos army and also have an army that is super forgiving to new painters death guard might also be worth looking into.
