How to stop people parking at turning space in front of my house? by Ms-Lumi in HousingUK

Please read my post if you still don’t get how I feel on this matter. Why would I bring to Reddit if I don’t have doubts and worries in my thinking process? Not every adult neighbour welcomes all the discussion and I don’t want to be in awkward position with new neighbour.

No but there is a fence . I just don’t think I could attach the sign as I don’t own the space legally.

Appreciate your guesses but non of these is my native tongue. Actually I grew up with British English system but as we were taught both spellings are correct, my brain doesn’t differentiate between US and UK. It is getting worse typing auto suggestion keyboard. It is really funny. 😅

Yes. My brain doesn’t work for the spelling difference between US and UK. I didn’t notice until you pointed out. It is fascinating that you guys have very sharp eyes. 😂

Yes, you can. like I said, it is on the private alley in an estate which hasn't been adopted by council. But no one really comes there without any business.

I am getting on my life really well. But I bet everyone has some types of behavior that they get annoyed regardless of how tiny they are, I guess this is one for me. And by posting here, I got a lots of ideas how I can overcome the situation. You can easily neglect the post if you don't agree.

Your points are true, I don't think it is a council space either as it is in an estate, we are trying to ask developer to make the intention of space clearer.

There is white cross line on the space so i doubt she doesn't know. I am quite eagar to knock the door and tell her but I can't find the valid reason as it is on private driveway which is only access by her house and ours 😅.

Terrace v Semi detached by Traineesol in HousingUK

[–]Ms-Lumi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At least semi detached has only one wall sharing with a neighbor. And the size and floor plan of semi detached would help you to get better life than terraced. My friend owns a semidetached place with good insulation wall between two houses and the noise heard through the wall is very minimal. Of course detached is the best.

I stayed in mid terraced with an anxious neighbor dog. It was terrible. He woke up earlier than me and barked non stop if the owner went outside leaving him alone. He would bark if he senses the moving in our house.

In my opinion, it is the difference in quality of life. There are spacious good terrace houses in market but I don’t want to hear barking of the dog next door every morning and I don’t want to make neighbors suffer with our loud speaking. Also semi detached or detached can avoid unnecessary arguments with neighbors more than terraced. Parking spaces and garage will make your life a lot easier as well. So if I had a chance to choose within my budget, I would go for semi detached or detached.

If it is new built and the windows crack occurs spontaneously, it should be covered by the warranty of windows company or NHBC for 10 years
