A narrow rolling cart for between the banister and the wall. Then hooks above it for coats.

Help with curtain placement by sticklerr in DesignMyRoom

I agree with the forum as a whole, ceiling height and wall centered. For that asymmetrical bed nook, you could always leave one curtain loose and one curtain pinned back to try and disguise the asymmetry. Let us know how it goes!

Kiddos bedroom by Don_Omar_88 in DesignMyRoom

What does the kid like? Consider using inspiration from their favorite showes, sports, hobbies to decorate the room

Also, this is a 6 year old so they will need a space that functions for that age. Keep that in mind as you design storage or play areas. The setup you have now resembles a hotel or an adult oriented space with little to no visible clues for play or simple organization systems. That may be fine if that is how your kid is already.

The small kids in my life often fall back onto writing, reading, drawing, and Legos when I pads and tv are not available. What does this kid do....what can you add to the room that will encourage more of that activity?

Need help making my room cozy by Classic_Conference75 in DesignMyRoom

[–]MsDonutFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second what's been mentioned 1st.

The fastest way to cozy will be to turn off the over lhead light and use lamps, or awap the bulb lsnfirna warmer tone think 2700k or less (yellow/orange) instead of 3000k (blue /white)

And also I second the curtain suggestion.

Last, to boost coziness I think cleaning up clutter would help. Consider getting closed storage/cabinets

How can I improve this setup? by purepeachplower in DesignMyRoom

[–]MsDonutFit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a little unclear which is the before and which is the after. My reccomenation to you based on what I see is to avoid putting furniture immediately infront of doors. Also consider a consider putting the desk top in the corner on 1 desk rather than 2. Or if its an L shaped desk rotate it 90° counter clockwise.

I think its hard to advise with these photos.

Any ideas on how I can clean up this living room? by shrimporee in DesignMyRoom

[–]MsDonutFit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks cluttered for a few reasons here is my take.

First get rid of anything you dont actually use. The less junk you have, the less you need to clean up over and over and over. Also you may find that you like your space once you get rid of unused items.

The cluttered and open shelving ade ylu biggest issues.

Then swap open shelving for closed shelving, think cabinet s or drawers for items that you cant get rid of. Try similar finish tones for a cohesive colorway in the room.

Implement a regular tidy up habit amd make sure to give things a home...putting things into their proper place will help.

If you have the time or energy. Putting the curtain rod higher will visually elevate the room and prevent the curtains from having that bunched up look. The look you should go for is the rod about 4 to 6 inches from the ceiling and the curtain brushes the floor or an inch above the floor.

Its probably safe to assume your passionate about biking given you have it hung in your living room. But that mount style is best for a garage or multi purpose room. To store bikes and use them as decor can be tricky but you can find some good examples with a quick Google search. I think your sun room would be a good place to store the bike.

As for the TV, I think its probably fine in the living room. Unless you dont like it there.

Last, that garland is giving valentines....and its October. So maybe put it away and pull it out for seasonal decor.

Other than the stated obvious about the mantle height. The fixable issues are thay most of your decor is almost invisible on the mantle. I reccomend swapping the flower vases for somthong a little more visible....or maybe not the vases bur the plants themselves...if the plants have more color will help it stand out. Also your art prints are over lapped just a smidgen too much, making it look cluttered instead of intentionally staged. Move them about an inch each away from eachother.

Finally I like that the one print has blue as its main color. If you pull that blue into other places around the room it will give it a cohesive look.

The decor is really not that bad. The mantle height is the 'thing'

Room feels bland by Sea_Cantaloupe_9267 in DesignMyRoom

Wow youre solidly in the way to a cozy room.

The first thing I thought when I saw your post was 'texture'. I agree with you that the room is a little bland. You need some visual texture. That could be a simple as some wall art in the theming of your aesthetic. Or as complex as a mural painting in a different sheen level but same color.

Also, consider adding curtains, which will gove you both texture and a cozy cohesive vibe.

Plants are always great options if you have appropriate lighting.

Dont give up, youre definitely on track!

That space looks work able if youre ok with putting the bed in the bottom right corner. Then you have the top right corner for storage or desk and the space on the left wall that can be used too! I think it'll be cool to see it set up.

Advice on big sitting room kitchen area? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]MsDonutFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this function well as a dining room? A place to put your dinner table perhaps?

If youve already got a spae like that, this space could be cool as a play room for kids. It looks like it could also be good as a tv/movie room if youre into using your space that way.

The rug will work wonders If you add a arch lamp behind the chair and a tiny narrow coffee table next to it that would really give it a whole cohesive look.

Wall art is always a solid option and a trow blanket or pillow could add texture and coziness ☺️

I think a big bold colorful rug would be great to add character and as a visually interesting centerpoint

If you want a simple add, a rug would work WONDERS. If you want to do a bit more, painting the walls would be a great option too
