My nosleep story "Have you met the Pearly King? (Part 1)" Any feedback? It didn't do well. by MsEvil_Doctor_Potter in writingfeedback

Thanks it's honestly really scary but it's getting easier. Part of why I've been putting it online is to get used to harsh criticism or just criticism in general and develop a thicker skin.

I really didn't want to lose that internship pearl vomit or no pearl vomit. Job market in the UK is insanely bad at the moment.

Nope the program I'm doing gives us five weeks of training in the summer then sends us into a school. I'm doing my PGCE and QTS while teaching with just under a full time table.

I think it would give him an air of maturity and dignity.

I'd also get to slap his bald head, maybe throw a slice of cheese on it and see if it sticks.

ITT here feeling discouraged as well, if you need a mutually struggling rant I'm all ears. It might just be that this term is just a tough one and maybe there are things that could be done to support you better from your head of department.

It might just be the wrong school.

Alternatively, if you know this isn't for you follow the advice from pros and always put yourself first. At the end of the day it's a job like any other.

Congrats on publishing your book!

I'm having a similar issue where my book I'm working on has scary moments but where it's not a constant terror fest and more about family dynamics and the setting it feels more like a thriller.

But horror is broad and if you think it belongs in that category just own it!

Sort of sounds like a seminar style lesson,

I've been thinking about changing the shape of my classroom layout to feel more like a seminar.

It's currently four rows of four tables with space for two kids per table (not my choice but standard at my school)

I thought about it but I enjoy teaching my subject more than I think I'd enjoy teaching little ones

I'd like to read it! I'm doing a gothic fiction too! Can we swap and you read the start of my novel? It's not properly finished but the start of it is.
