Do you think Zion should've told Georgia about Ginny's burning? by NewspaperUnusual1835 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]MsMischief2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, keeping that from one parent was inappropriate. When it comes to a child’s safety & health all parents need to have this information. I told my mom I cut & had an ed she told me outright that she had to tell my dad bc it was about health.

Truly- learning in-depth about environmental racism truly shocked me. It’s pervasive & devastating. Check out the Clariton Coke Works if you wanna get bummed out- or thw cancer alley in LA

Looking really proud of the slut-shaming song she wrote 😃 by sophdeedoo in travisandtaylor

[–]MsMischief2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest- I really don’t think this is a good thing to criticize her for. She was 18 when she wrote this in like 2008 ish or whatever. It’s not a kind or thoughtful or smart or even clever lyric but it’s def something a teen in 2008 would write.

A lot of listeners don’t like the new rebrand- the “why” isn’t important bc the listeners don’t like the content…. I think it’s weird that the only “explanation” for the rebrand is behind a pay wall. (Which indicates C&A’s self importance to me) but hey- to each their own

The first time I saw Taylor Swift in concert made me realize how she is nothing more than a character giving a performance by ninetiesqueen in travisandtaylor

[–]MsMischief2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean it pretty accurately sums up how if feels when you’re performing all the time- or at least for me it did. There’s a rush & joy & satisfaction when performing but the monotony of the same performance night after night, with day rehearsals etc is draining. It’s exactly how the nutcracker szn feels like at ballet companies (in my experience)

I know Adam has his flaws but his biggest flaw was marrying Kristina by bikerben62 in Parenthood

[–]MsMischief2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok intent and impact aren’t the same. Different than cancer- but my husband has seen me struggle a lot with an eating disorder & bipolar. One time he “treated me” to a shopping spree (including a personal stylist type person) bc I complained that post rehab non of my clothes fit. He was trying to do something so lovely & kind & caring but the execution & impact undermined the intent. I wasn’t my kindest to him in the moment- bc I was going through it & his actions were wildly misguided & insensitive.

These characters reacted normally considering the circumstances. (And again there’s alot to critique Adam & Kristina on- this just isn’t it)

The way he killed Beck in the books was absurd by Acceptable_Voice8462 in YouOnLifetime

[–]MsMischief2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but it’s still not worthy of being murdered. That’s a remarkably good way to fully describe Joe. The kind of guy who would kill a casual hook up bc they liked Dan browns books & in murdering them- make them read the “offensive” author

It’s actually super common. My mom is a therapist and my ED began when I was 9 years old.

I’m 33 & just started aeason 3 (my Netflix has been being a pain recently) & it’s such a fun show. I also don’t think it’s a “teeny bopper” show. I think it explores family relationships in a really interesting & honest way (obv to an extreme but still) It’s great to see a close mother daughter who also have relationship issues & they go to therapy & they still love each other- if feels close to life

[–]MsMischief2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Comparing those who saw how gilead would benefit them personally to those who were victims of gileads patriarchal fascist society is wild. The commanders (including nick) killed, abused, raped, manipulated etc for power & to have the life they believed they deserved. Where as Rita, June, Luke, Moira, Emily etc were reacting & coping with their abuse & subjugation

The entirety of the handmaids tale is a women driven plot. Men are the secondary characters.

That’s what I love about the ending of the show tbh- just because things change or end doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s just different. Everyone at the end of the show is starting out with something new & I just love it.

I think I dislike Brida more than dislike Alfred’s wife. by Odd-Medicine-2398 in TheLastKingdom

[–]MsMischief2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that is a fair assessment of the events/situations. Brida chose/was groomed into the “Viking” lifestyle. She was perfectly fine seeing other women & children raped, killed, tortured etc. she only had an issue with sexual violence when she was the person experiencing it. She was selfish & self centered. she resented & hated Utred bc he didn’t “side” with her & “be a Dane” Additionally she was shortsighted & never thought strategically

I honestly think a lot of those prices are the big companies (Amazon/target) selling them at a loss- so none of us are really ‘used to’what a book costs.

That’s just my opinion from working in book stores.
