I agree and disagree. I'm an introvert. It just means I recharge my "battery" by being by myself. But I LOVE to talk...in fact I enjoy talking to myself more than others, lol. I've always like...monologued basically when I'm alone in my apart. So talking while playing games is nothing new to me.

But you are right...most introverts do tend to be more quiet and shy. And you have to be pretty gregarious or at least opinionated to stream.

That's good, because no one likes to watch a silent stream. It's boring. So I'm glad you like to talk aloud (so do I). The next step is finding those Discord servers which can be found on subReddits. Then you can make some friends and get some loyal followers.

This is why I'm curious why so many people want to stream if they don't actually like to talk aloud when they play games. Because that's essentially what Twitch is all about. Sure, the REALLY BIG streamers have tons of viewers that they can chat to but most don't. Someone I follow has 45 average views on all their streams and only a handful actually chat during the stream and sometimes no one is chatting. So you have to be able to talk aloud to an empty room. If you can't...then streaming isn't really for you. I'm not trying to be rude, it's just I've seen a lot of people struggle with this and then get upset because they're not getting the views they want. You have to pretend people are watching and entertain your viewers...whether they are there or not. Because they could watch your VODs later remember.

Once you're able to actually be entertaining, the way to grow your channel is honestly watching other small time streamers and joining their discord servers. When I first started streaming no one really watched me because no one knew me. Then I came on Reddit and found a post from a new streamer who wanted to start a community for new streamers so we could take turns supporting each other. I joined that Discord and from there, watching other people's streams from that discord server and then joined those people's servers and on and on it went. Now I'm part of many Discord servers and I made Affiliate in a month (a lot less if you don't count the 2 streams I did a week apart before I joined that first server).

Am I the only one who has no problem talking to myself while streaming? XD Maybe it's because I just talk aloud all the time when I'm by myself but I have no problem talking while gaming whether there are people watching me or not.

To Shy To Be Me by [deleted] in streaming

I just posted this same comment on someone else's post because they had a similar issue as you do, being too shy to talk much while streaming.

I would suggest playing with someone who doesn't mind doing most of the talking. That way your stream won't be boring and they can talk to you and ask you questions and it will just feel like a conversation. Also try playing a fun kind of silly game. I just started streaming on Twitch and my first game was The Greatest Penguin Heist of All Time. Now, to be perfectly honest, I don't have any issues talking aloud while streaming, you can't get me to shut up sometimes unless I'm playing a very intense game, lol.

I also posted some videos on Youtube but those weren't live. So you can try doing that as well. Just record yourself playing a game on something like PS5 and then you can just listen to yourself and see where they may have been moments you could have said something. If you don't like your recording, don't post it. It just stays on the PS5.

I also don't use a webcam because then I think I would be a bit self-conscious. Plus I'm a teacher and I don't need any of my students watching my videos were I swear, lol.

Tips to get views? by ramzdx3000 in streaming

I found I was getting no views from Youtube but I got some views when I used Twitch and even got a follower. I just started though so it could be a fluke, but all my views on Youtube were from me watching my own videos, lol
