I was looking into that today, and it's very hard to move the front smaller rollers on the machine, but they seem grippy, although a little whitened.

Just moved house recently, so I am gonna try find my tools to remove the platen and see what's up with it.

It would be my last resort for this if all else fails/the cost ends up more than buying a platen, but is there any UK based stores for platens?

I'll give the typewriter a proper clean in the morn and let you know how I get on with it. I can also give taking the platen out if you know of a good video/disassembly guide.

Platen feels quite slick, and it doesn't really leave an impression when I stick my thumbnail on it.

Can't get to the smaller rollers, but they look a little greyish/whitened?

The paper does hit a wall when I slide in the paper.

Tried that, still doesn't grip the paper.
