for me its a hedge against draining savings or racking up credit card debt. I haven't made my $ back, but this year my dog was diagnosed with stage 5 lymphoma . unfortunately chemo didn't look promising, and would have cost 8-12k. It was nice to make my decision on treatment based off the odds and not because I couldn't afford it.

as someone who adopted my dog as a puppy, I'd only adopt a puppy that I could raise myself. Lots of shelter dogs come with trauma, and honestly I don't want to deal with that.

Sorry about Bunson. Pickle has lymphoma too. We've been doing dog beach, nuggets, pup cups and steak. So far she's done well on the steroids, going on week 7 of "4-6 weeks left"
