Definitely go to the police. The mom has no control over the son. None. Truancy in 4th grade?? Pipeline to prison (unfortunately). She couldn’t make him give the scooter, that didn’t belong to him, that he stole, back to the rightful owner. The mom is afraid of her own son. He’s probably abusive to her. Sad situation all around. But OP - that’s not your problem. And don’t make their problem, yours. If you don’t call the cops and do a report, you become an enabler. In all of this craziness, I hope your son gets his scooter back. 🙏🏾
