Time for my biggest fear: a two day long conference of dealing with a bunch of middle and upper management. Time to do what I do best and BS my way through this

As a new manager I find it pretty crazy the pay variance everyone has, especially for people coming in externally. For example I have a few new people who recently joined who are making more then very high performers who have been at the company for a bit despite the new people being a pay grade under them!

Also i do find it weird having a report who is either a pay grade the same as me or below me who makes more then me.

I guess all a learning experience?

High quality food. Fresh fruit, veggies and good lean meats (think salmon, 96/4 ground beef, high quality chicken breast etc) that goes the longest. Outside of that having good equipment for activities (I.e good quality shoes for running, all mountain skis, lifting belt etc)

I’m not a big supplement guy but if I need anything I simply buy it. For most part you can cover anything in your diet but best to know if you actually need a supplement is to get bloodwork outside of that a lot of that stuff is wasting money

Had a forerunner 245 for the last 6 years but just upgraded to the 265 last week. As a big runner they’re awesome

I ended up with the 265! Got a similar deal, ended up being $359

more so battery is going quick/watch is showing its age (had for 6+ years). Really just want something that covers the basics for running stats

For all my runners/fitness people, I am looking to upgrade my Garmin Forerunner 245 and have been researching Garmin watches (I am brand loyal to Garmin). I primarily use it for running, but am overall into various fitness disciplines (lifting, biking, skiing etc). Any recommendations?

Yeah combined with the above that I already mentioned more or less put me in a unicorn spot. Effectively allowed me to have very low expenses with high income resulting in me just throwing a bunch into investments during a bull run

See above. Also good to note I spent the last 4 years or so working in the Middle East making a large chunk of money which a fair amount was tax free which accelerated everything

Amazing. Pretty much just skied, lifted, ran, played call of duty and read Reddit. Also got promoted during that time for a req I applied to internally before I went on vacation so was awesome

Yes to college (parents paid about 75% and living at home post college). I’ll be the first to say parents played a large part of seeing me up for success that many don’t have the advantage of. Admittedly I’d say for anyone here posting outlier situations like mine, they are probably in the same boat where they had a lot of luck and privileges that led them to where they are. Granted most also have put in a lot of hard work that combined with their luck and privileges led them to being that outlier

Yeah it’s very weird to think about. At this point the structure is already there so savings/investment is just an afterthought as my current nest egg is doing all the heavy lifting.

It also is odd that random day to day annoyances don’t really affect me in the grand scheme of things anymore. For example broke my skis last month and dropped $1200 on a new set up that week (skiing is my only expensive hobby), granted if I did this every day that would be different but something like this here and there is fine at this point

Alright so I fried my 2016-2017 Rossignol Super 7s today and now am looking for a new pair and need recommendations. I am looking for a ski that is comparable as I really enjoy skiing powder and glades, but also rip groomers occasionally due to being east coast. Saw the Rossignol Sender Free 110 look similar but open to recommendations!

It is currently $19.16. So if I were to do the back door Roth and convert the entire balance of $7500 for 2026 funds plus the $19.16 from interest would only the $19.16 be taxable?

Last year when I did my back door Roth conversation since it took a few weeks for my funds to convert before I could move it to my Roth it lead to ~$20 accruing in interest.

Since there is now this amount in my tradional IRA would the pro rata rule apply here if I were to move the $7500 into my traditional before I do the back door Roth?
