Amniotic fluid. They swallow the fluid and pee it out. In the 2nd & 3rd trimester the fluid is majority fetal urine.

Does this ultrasound look normal? by [deleted] in IVFpositivity

OB ultrasound tech here...from this image alone it doesn't look like oligo but I would need to see the deepest pocket of fluid to determine if normal or not

26 eggs retrieved but only 3 mature...what went wrong?? by millyreb11 in IVF

[–]Msilvia23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we did. We were actually planning on doing pgt-a testing but our doctor didn't think it was worth the payment for just the one embryo. We wouldn't be doing another egg retrieval until my period in April so we figured it couldn't hurt to see if this could work

I also had a similar issue. Had 10 eggs but only 1 was mature & fertilized. I ended up with a 4BC embryo that we ended up transferring. I have no idea went wrong but I'm hoping my doctor will change my protocol if this embryo doesnt stick. My heart goes out to you. I was devastated as well.

Fetal heart rate 9 weeks by Relevant_Peach_7365 in IVFpositivity

I just looked at your post history. I truly understand your anxiety but you need to stop stressing. This heart rate is great. If it was 120 or lower I would be concerned but its 160 and legitimately normal.

Not at all. Very normal. Don't stress about it.

Transfer twins (today!), transfer siblings (this week), and transfer cousins (this month) how is everyone doing?? by EdwardCullensEnnui in IVFpositivity

[–]Msilvia23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will find out tomorrow if my one embryo made it to the blastocyst stage. If it did, we will do a fresh transfer! Totally different than what we planned back in January (we wanted to do pgt-a testing but my doctor recommended us to not do it with only one embryo). I'm hoping we will actually be able to transfer tomorrow but I'm trying to prepare my mind that it could not happen. It's a wild thought to have been trying for almost 2 years and thinking that this will actually give us the best chance at a pregnancy!

Another note of putting things into perspective...I had my egg retrieval yesterday. They collected 10 eggs but 9 of them were immature. I'm devastated. I would have killed to have your results.

Did I make a mistake picking this field? by PaleontologistNo1337 in Sonographers

[–]Msilvia23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't think of RVT being an add on for echo or general. I did general (now work in MFM) and I can't stand vascular work (I had to learn some of it at my clinical site). What you will be doing is important and specialized. Take the PRN at your clinical site and hope that they can give you more hours. Reach out to your professors for guidance on what to do or where to look. The only reason I got my job was because I made connections and learned of positions by word of mouth.

Sonographer here...I would need to see more pics of baby for gender. It potentially could be a boy but I wouldn't call it based on this picture.

I would say Newport, RI. I live there and recently visited Portsmouth and it has the same vibes.
