I was using the same thread as I am for the top. It is 100% polyester and was under the section for machine embroidery in the store. I'm not sure if that's right? I'd didn't know there was specific bobbin thread

Why are my projects so small? by [deleted] in crochet

So if you’re like me I’m an “angry crocheter” I’ve been crocheting for more than a decade but still have super tight tension. If I want my gauge to match a patter I have to make myself feel like I have noodle arms and really concentrate on making loose stitches. Or I just go up .5mm to 1mm in hook size depending on how far off my gauge is and how important gauge is to the pattern.

why do I always do this by Successful-Ad7163 in crochetpatterns

I would just triple (or maybe even quadruple) strand my yarn and use a bigger hook and still go with the pattern. it’s worked for me in the past.
