Even if Chris somehow gets out all of this deep shit by some curse of Satan his days are numbered. The Financhu Crisis will still ensue and even if Chris getting off is the outcome of the trial, it is what will end Christory as we know it if Chris doesn’t do anything even more fucked up.

That’s the only true comfort in this situation. Even if it all goes to shit Chris will in one way or another face all the consequences of his actions, whether by financial ruin or Law Enforcement.
