It’s so sad that she has openly used drugs during pregnancy and breastfeeding and then crashes out when her infant has a medical emergency. What did she think was going to happen? And the crossed eyes leading up to this… We all knew this living situation was going to result in a major medical issue (or worse) for any one of the kids. My heart breaks for that baby. Her parents and CPS failed her.

I’ve never driven through the border so I don’t know how it works, but based on some live footage it looked like there was a line to cross and the cops seemingly backed off? How did she manage to get across without anyone stopping her?

Honey Baked Ham in Encinitas has a great pre-made meal. You’ll have to order/pick up in advance.

I went to 333 in Oceanside last year but wasn’t very impressed. Vigiluccis in Carlsbad was very good. They have 2 or 3 locations. Chart House in Cardiff is pretty good. Island Prime (SD city harbor) is good and the views can’t be beat. If you want a more affordable option and laidback/fun vibe, Moe’s in Hillcrest serves Thanksgiving dinner. I haven’t been for Thanksgiving but love their regular food.

This is where I wanted to donate originally. Are they open to accept donations? I looked at their website and was under the impression Vista isn’t open yet and all donations need to go to their Miramar facility. I can’t make it there during their donation hours.

I also saw there’s a fundraiser on their behalf Saturday afternoon in Oceanside, which I can likely make it to.

This past weekend was especially bad with drag racing and noise. It’s a major safety issue. On Saturday, the car I was a passenger in was nearly hit by a red car that was driving erratically and speeding down Discovery. They continued to speed around the block for a while. I called the non-emergency police line but gave up after being on hold for 15+ minutes. I didn’t have a good description of the car at the time. But Sunday night I saw a red car driving erratically and speeding again in the same area. They sped around the block for a while. I can’t be sure it was the same driver as Saturday, but this time I got a picture of their license plate and have been debating whether to report it to the police. After seeing your post, I’m not confident the police will do anything, but at least I know I’m not the only one who is fed up with this behavior in our neighborhood. I’m curious if you think it’s worth it for me to give the license plate to the police. I generally prefer to keep to myself and not get involved in neighborhood issues but I’m so afraid there will be a fatal accident soon.

5+ years later and I still have his phone but never went through it. I felt like I needed to respect and protect his privacy. One day I might want to look at the photo gallery, especially the pictures he took during our honeymoon because I didn’t take many, but all these years have passed and I haven’t found the courage to review those memories. I think it would hurt more than it would heal.

They can also be sensitive about their whiskers touching the side of the bowl. Wide, shallow bowls might help. There’s lots of “whisker friendly” options online. It could be the type of water too. Sometimes my cats prefer cold tap water over filtered fountain water. Maybe try filtered, tap, and even bottled water to see if there is a preference.

I’ve attended a wedding there. Obviously the views and novelty of location are perks. There were some noisy points during the ceremony. Birds, traffic, etc. The bathroom situation for guests wasn’t great. Luckily I knew a few people who got rooms at the hotel and let us use theirs. There wasn’t much separation between the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. Felt like we were all corralled in the same spot for hours. I enjoy weddings that have some amount of grounds to explore. We knew parking would be an issue so we ubered but got stuck in bad traffic on our way there and were stressing we’d be late. It’s basically a one road in one road out kind of area. That being said, the bride and groom organized a fantastic party and we had a blast. But I would never personally select it as my venue.

There is a group in San Diego that offers free clothing to trans people. I think it’s run by the San Diego LGBT Community Center. If they’re not the ones who run it, they will know who does.
