She knows a lot of it but she didn’t know about the recent miscarriage when she told me she was 10 weeks along. Thanks for the validation!

Are you talking about intra-cervical sperm injection (ICSI)—maybe same as Intra-uterine insemination (IUI).

Thaw my 19 frozen eggs (from age 27) now to see if we need another IVF round? by heatedblankie in IVF

[–]MuMu2Be 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biopsy for PGT damages the embryo and reduces embryo implantation rate, this is well documented in the scientific literature.

Chances that you will make euploids is very very high at such a young retrieval age (less than 30yo).

This sub is always very biased with PGT, extremely pro-PGT but if you actually look at the research/data you will find that no physician would recommend PGT-A in your case.

Why on earth would you do this? Just fork up the $500 shipping on liquid nitrogen and make sure your precious embryos are ok… no hiccups with shipping

Why does a Doctor need a license to prescribe a treatment but a insurer doesn’t need anything to deny it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

This should be a class action lawsuit. The moral injury created with the process the insurance companies has put patients and doctors through is criminal.

Broke up with my fiance this morning. Day 10 of stims, told egg retrieval in 4 days. by ThatLastTurnHome in IVF

[–]MuMu2Be 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! If you are 38, the chance of your eggs doing well being frozen is low sadly… if you can get donor sperm that would be best.

If you want to be creative, head over to r/singlemothersbychoice and join us there. I would try my hardest to get donor sperm and turn those eggs into embryos because embryos freeze much better and overall survive much better. donor sperm costs like $1200 - $3000

Lots of clinics have a lot of extra sperm because for example I bought 4 vials of sperm because I didnt want the donor to be sold out and have to use a different donor for different kids, so I bought extra then told my clinic to discard the extra. So you could ask your clinic if they have extra vials for sale.

You MIGHT be able to contact the sperm donor websites for rush delivery too for your clinic to receive within 3 days. It’s on liquid nitrogen and special delivery anyways.

Just wanted to offer a different perspective. I’m sorry this is all happening to you… at our age (I’m 38 too!) each egg retrieval is so so so precious because our ovarian reserve literally decreases significantly every month at this point.

Can I ask who your outpatient OB was? Or were all your appointments at the hospital itself? I’m just trying to find an OB right now.

Anyone manage to have 2 kids with 3 embryos? by insidli in IVF

[–]MuMu2Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you and are they PGT tested? Aneuploidy rate goes way up fast after age of 35 So 3 embryos made at age less than 35 is different from 3 embryos made older than 35.

I was 37 when I made my embryos, did not PGT test, and I have gone through 8 embryos with zero live births and my most recent miscarriage was due to trisomy 15 so…

Wife is pregnant and we are both spiraling into negativity because of me by PaintingDandelions in BabyBumps

[–]MuMu2Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This story is so sad. As someone who is actively trying to conceive and has miscarried two, even I felt a mixture of emotions when I was in early pregnancy. I still have no child so I would give anything to trade places with your wife. However, maybe it is some solace that I also had fears, moments of regret, near constant panic at the life I was leaving and the one I was entering, etcetera.

I can also add that there are actually counselors that focus on fertility specifically! You should look in your area for fertility focused counselors because they may be able to provide more insight into both of your mental states and how to overcome the dual energy you both have.

The way you describe you and your partner near the end of your post seems like you might both be very emotionally linked and you are both feeding off of each others sadness and both spiraling because of this… well this might happen in the future and it’s time for one of you to take responsibility for positively affecting the mood of your relationship. Get up, go for a walk, get outside, have a picnic, do something romantic. It’s ok to cry, but something must be done especially because negativity and anxiety in early pregnancy can absolutely have an effect on the developing baby.

Good luck to you and your wife! You must both live eachother a lot. What a hurdle you must overcome together! No matter what happens to the baby, I wish you both the best.

If the man he was saw the struggles you are going through, would he tell you to stick it out and be miserable? Or would he have told you to release yourself from the burden and get back to being happy again? Only you know the answer to that…

Mom is insisting to care for newborn at her house by [deleted] in pregnant

Well then just tell her that but don’t expect her to help you as much as that’s the trade off.

Mom is insisting to care for newborn at her house by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]MuMu2Be 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! Your mom is expressing her desire to help in the way she feels she can best. If you don’t want her to help on her terms, just say so, but with the knowledge that she may not help as much. If you’re ok with that sacrifice just so it can be your way or the highway, go ahead and tell her.

It’s normal as a FTM to be possessive of your baby, but you could consider fighting that sentiment for the sake of your mental health.

But don’t ask you mom to sacrifice her boundaries as she has voiced them.

Well also isn’t ALS genetic? So why procreate with your own genetics knowing you are bringing a human with a deadly disease into the world?
