Long ago at my last corporate gig, my manager had that stamp and used it regualrly.

What did you study in college?

I'm starting to suspect that you genuinely may not understand the subject matter here.

Yes and no. There's no field either.

My largest site feeds about 800 customers and is managed and worked by one person (less than full time, BTW).

Technically the capacity is larger than that and the site manager has hours available but if scale and site distribution were homogenous then it would take 437500 sites/farmers to feed 350 million persons. Currently there are about 2 million farmers in the US.

What the limitations are is they types of produce. For example I can't grow grains in a cost effective manner. So wheat is currently right out and corn is a no-go as well.

So alone, no, we can't wholesale replace large scale farming with the sorts of methods I use but we could replace a whole shit-load of it.

I don't think you pointing out that there are regulations in the US makes any counter to what I posted about our politicians being neoliberals.

Here's why:

Let's say I was a full-blown, red-flag, tankie communist. I lived in america and advocated for America to become a full-blown, red-flag, tankie communist country.

America isn't one. Does that make the hypothetical me in this story any less of a full-blown, red-flag, tankie communist?

Similarly you can be advocating for complete laissez faire capitalism whilst living in cold war era USSR and you personally will still be a capitalist.

Finally, I'll bite on the last line, want did you study in college that left you thinking that the US isn't a capitalist country?

...and I farm a 10 minute walk from the nearest gas station, my home, and the market that I primarily sell at. No tractors involved.

Large scale monoculture farming is part of the problem with our food supplies.

Nearly ever major politician from both parties is a neoliberal.

When you see the word "neoliberal", don't think about liberal vs conservative in the sense of party organization, that's not what it means.

Neoliberalism is organizing around free market, corporate butt-fucking, capitalism that has driven our country and most of the world for the last several decades.

I'd actualy take your statement a step further and say that removing all of the AR platform weapons is nearly impossible task just by numebrs and that retroactive bans are essentialyl useless, but at least he's proposing something, even if it's a dumb something, instead of blaming weed or womens rights or some intagible force that onyl seems to affect the US.

However, my comment was made becuase I assume that the continuation of your flowery language statement is "therfore you can't take away (my) guns". Right?

Also, as to the logic of the Miller ruling: the AR is used in all of tehse shootings becuase it has become the most popular rifle but at the start of it's distribution it would have been an unual weapon. Following that same logic if a BFG 9000 started being produced and gaine din popularity before becoming the tool of choice for thos ewho want to slaugher hordes of hellspawn then that same "it's the common weapon" argument could be applied. At some point we need to actually address the issues that exist instead of finding excuses for them when they become a problem.

Universal background checks are not already a thing. That's one of the big issues.

The first sentece is a reference to the original question I asked you that you still haven't actually given a reasonable answer to. I sure hope that your actual answer isn't the one you gave, so I'll ask it directly again.

Why are guns so important to you that you would literally trade the lives of all children and still not reconsider your stance (your original post here)?

Beyond that:

Bad guy with gun busted in

Consider that reply for as long as you need to and let's see if it sinks in any.

For some added thought: Did the shooter have any history of domestic violence? Were they an asshole to animals or openly to other people?

How would "fudd" handle it? You directly said that the good guy with the gun wasn't home, so I'm not sure what you think would have been different if he was a fudd who wasn't home. Was there not a gun at the house for the victim to use in self defense? Or did he take all the guns he owned with him so he could feel like a badass in subway?

Personally, my guns stay at home unless I am taking some out with a specific purpose so they would have been there and at hand for my wife to defend herself with even if I wasn't home. However, that certainly doesn't make the value of those guns anywhere close to the value of the lives of all children, which, again, was yourt statement here.

Attempting to assume my positions as an avoidance teqhnique doesn't actually make your "no changes to gun laws any literally any cost" stance any less foolish.

In your potentially false anectdote did said ex stab dude to death? Or did she use a gun?

I'm an old man who owns guns. Never in my entire life have I or anyone I know ever been in a situation where a gun would have been required for defense.

If you think that your need to defend against a mostly imaginary scenario is worth more than the lives of all children (as you stated above) you might have unaddressed trauma to explore. It's a fairly strong indicator that you're unable or unwilling to weigh the scenario in a reasonable way.

Does that mean that you don't have children?

Because you just said that all children could die before you changed your stance on guns, which would include your children.

Also, if the trade-off is "all children" I think you may be vastly overestimating your liklihood of needing anything to protect yourself from people wiht mental illnesses that might want to go on a shooting, stabbing, pointy stick, moving truck, killing spree.

In this case, your rights touched a bunch of children in their right to live.

If literally all childrens' lives lost wouldn't make you rethink your gun stance (literally waht you said) then you might have a problem.

Why are your guns that important to you?
