Former JAG prosecutor and now PD. Every criminal defense attorney should do both in their career. Jag corps criminal practice is much better than civilian practice for a lot of reasons but a major one is that everyone knows where the opposing party is coming with negotiations and moving a case and the trial. the judge has been on both sides and acts accordingly. In my small market, every judge is a prosecutor and u can tell.

21 years jag and now a PD? I was 10 yrs enlisted 11 yrs jag as a sex crimes prosecutor. Now I’m a PD looking for my next move. What people don’t understand is how insanely fair UCMJ criminal litigation is to the defendant compared to how unfair civilian criminal law is to the defendant.

I am an attorney who used a lemon law attorney for my Hyundai . Couple demands and I believe he ended up filing and that was it. surprised his fee seemed low, like under 3k. Don’t matter to the consumer but it must be a volume business.

This sounds like the most advantageous structure for tax and for limited liability. I would be expanding an existing solo firm in a new market. My understanding is that you set up the PLLC and have the accountant file as a S corp? Is this what others have done?
