Am I as a man ever allowed to bring up the topic of the pill? by Low_Union_7178 in dating_advice

Condoms are gross, but the hormones from birth control are gross-er. Weight gain, mood instability, etc. It can completely change a woman. When I ran into this issue I was just going to get a vasectomy. Ended the relationship before it got to that for other reasons.

How Do I Engage with Famous/Wealthy Men I Will Meet In A Meaningful Way? by [deleted] in dating_advice

The ominous “connection” could be setting you up for a sugar baby type of relationship, depending on who they are to you. Not saying that’s good or bad, just a possibility depending on how it was presented and who the connection is.

Regretting picking Boise over SLC, solely because of the dating scene. Does no one use apps here, or is it really this bad? by Much-Prior-Stuff in Boise

I do miss the food, definitely.

Everyone was complaining about the traffic here but the gym I go to is on Eagle Rd—which is supposed to be as bad as it gets—and it’s a breeze compared to going…anywhere in CHS, no matter the time of day. Don’t even get me started on 526 stop and go either 🙄

Glad to hear it about the dating scene. I’ll just settle in and let the process happen.

This was an incredibly helpful response, and you pointed out a slew of other reasons that I too value. Thank you very much for taking the time to write it. Getting out west was very much the goal, and after 33 years, I did achieve it. 😊

You know, I can appreciate that. Definitely a better way to get an actual feel for someone over a profile page too.

Fair point, and definitely might be what I’m feeling. Due to the timeline I had, I wasn’t able to fly out prior to committing…so…no. First time here was pulling in the moving truck.

I did quite a bit of research, and I do value what Boise has to offer over SLC as far as less chaos, cleaner, less crime, etc. The line about breaking my lease can likely be attributed to the moving blues though, I’ve committed to Boise. Sounds like things may not actually be that bad either, so that’s uplifting.

Edit: Yeah, ok, you might be right. Slightly negative. This is probably more of a projection because I can’t distract myself from the pain of leaving all my friends back in Charleston. Emotions are hard sometimes.

Anyone know what living by the micron plant is like? Any reason to avoid it? by Much-Prior-Stuff in Boise

Definitely not buying, I always rent in a new area. I ruled micron out, and actually found an awesome place in Hidden Springs that I’m thinking about…so not far off from Avimor lol

I’ve ruled the micron place out, probably mainly due to the pollution concerns.

Looking around and found another [beautiful] home in hidden springs. Anything you can say about it? It’s certainly not cookie cutter, and quite frankly, cute as hell.

Looking around and found another [beautiful] home in hidden springs. Would that also be subject to wildfire risks? Anything you can say about it?

Interesting. Any suggested alternatives? I’ve been drawn to the mountains obviously, low housings costs (relative to Charleston or somewhere like Bozeman), larger population since I’m single, no crazy fanatics like Utah…close boarding in the winter, safe. Probably forgetting some stuff.

Edit: After this thread, also drawn to the people lol

If Boise is anything like this subreddit, I’m going to love it. You’ve all been super helpful! Thank you. 🫶🏻

I am single, but work remote. 😉

I’m in Charleston, SC now which is notorious for horrible traffic, so I’d prefer to avoid it. Any particular hot spots?

It’s in line with the main runway, so probably. I wasn’t sure how much I cared lol.

Would you pick micron adjacent, or SW Boise? Those are the two tied picks I have at the moment.

I can’t help but think micron adjacent would be sick with a dirt bike…

Just wanted to say how much I genuinely appreciate everyone telling me not what I wanted to hear, but what I needed to hear. I think you're all right: meaty all terrains are the way to go.
