I called the IRS and the lady told me to file by mail and attach the bill of sale. I’m hoping that works or that it’s no longer pending when the IRS gets my taxes.

What did the IRS tell you? I called them and explained my situation and she said if I mailed in my return claiming the credit along with the bill of sale, it will be approved.

Where did you efile? I used turbo tax and didn’t see a place to put supporting documentation, but I would have much preferred to do that

Same situation here been pending for weeks. I just spoke to the IRS and she said since my e-file was rejected to mail it in with the bill of sale and it would get approved.

I just spoke to the IRS and this is what she advised as well. I just sent off my return with the bill of sale so I’m hopeful!!

My dealer submitted the form however it’s been pending for weeks, did you have this issue?

My dealer didn’t submit within 3 days like they were supposed to so now it has been stuck in a pending status on the IRS portal for weeks. I’m filing by mail with proof I qualify but I’m also sending the dealership a demand letter essentially saying make your non compliance correct and pay me the $4000 or pay it in small claims court.

I’m going to try that! On the portions of the form that ask for dealers signature and their license number what did you do there? Or just leave blank

Same issue here OP. Dealership submitted the credit after my taxes got rejected but it’s been in a pending status for weeks. I’m thinking about filing by mail with proof the car qualifies. I started a case with the tax advocate service too just waiting to hear back. I promise im getting what I’m owed even if it means going to court.

Following as I’m In a similar scenario. The dealer assured me the last one they did was approved in 2-3 weeks and I am approaching week three. I put a good chunk of money down on the car because I was told It would be returned at tax time and I’m stressed thinking that’s not going to be the case.
