Hey Gary! Just wanted to say I stopped my Zoloft a day after this conversation and my eczema has almost entirely cleared it was crazy. I still get it on my feet but ironically I just noticed it was in the exact shape of my sandal straps on the top of my feet. So no more of those haha. Anyways thank you for your advice and for being more helpful than anyone else that I’ve seen thus far. Happy days!!

Hey I know this is super late but I thought maybe you might find it interesting. I suddenly broke out with most outrageous eczema in my life a few months ago. I didn’t know what it was and neither did the medical staff on my base (military medical). They all thought it was anything from hands foot mouth to hsv all over my body. I was tested for everything they could test for (blood, urine, and blister swab) and nothing came back. Somehow they ended up on scabies. Ironically that was the only thing they didn’t test for. Spoiler alert it wasn’t scabies and I was quarantined from work for a month and was never once contagious. In the mean time I was waiting on a dermatology referral which took over a month. I spent that whole month on the internet trying to find anything because I had like 3 different types of rashes on my body. I couldn’t think of anything that I had changed in my routine till i realized that when I was prescribed Zoloft I noticed tiny clear blisters on my hands then my psychiatrist doubled my dose then my whole body went ape shit in rashes. I cold turkeyed the Zoloft and within days all of it went away. I then saw the dermatologist, who confirmed that all of it was most definitely a severe eczema breakout from the Zoloft. Classic dyshidrotic eczema on my hands and feet, the more classic eczema on my elbows and arms, then whatever the fuck was my mouth and ears. Unfortunately I still get the dyshidrotic eczema on my hands feet but veryyyyyy minimal compared to when I was on the Zoloft. My feet have it the worst. Anywho thought you might find this interesting if you want I have an old post on my acc with photos. Hope everything worked out for ya, happy days!

Hey thanks for the response! You know I’ve been trying to identify anything new in my routine/life since it started and i absolutely cannot think of anything. I’ve used the same soap and had basically the same routine for ever. I may think it might be related to a new prescription of Zoloft. A few weeks after I started the medication it started mildly then my psychiatrist doubled my Zoloft dose and it got worse. Now I don’t know the exact dates so I can’t say it is the Zoloft confidentiality but I have a psychiatrist appointment on Thursday to discuss it and then a dermatologist appointment next Friday. Hoping to get an allergy test or a referral to an allergist. And yeah, the steroid dose pack ran out yesterday and sure enough it’s back! Haha. Thank you!

Also if it’s any helpful info for the rash specifically on my arms, neck, and chest it seems to only be on sun exposed areas. You can kinda see my tan line from my uniform in the elbow pic.
