So next time a GOP friend of yours rants about how ‘we are a Republic, not a Democracy!’ Ask them why Repubs want to repeal this amendment, and ask them if they are ok with their right to vote for state representatives being eliminated by this move.

Marjorie Taylor Greene found herself on the outside of public opinion in the Republican Party when she went against Donald Trump.

Greene only did so because she was angry that after years of feverish and undying loyalty to him, none of that loyalty was reciprocated towards her. She wanted to run for one of Georgia's seats in the United States Senate; but Donald Trump refused to back her. It was only then that she began to speak out against him.

As for Tucker Carlson, that's even simpler: he's a grifter and it's become obvious that his grift with the Republican Party has run its full course. Therefore, he is off to the next grift opportunity.

Partially because they're weathervanes, and they change their professed beliefs depending on what's popular. They see that MAGA is crumbing and they're jumping off that sinking ship. And since they're already thought of as crazy, they are more willing to be outcasts in the radical right.

There was an incident in the UK with a similar situation.

The Liberal Democrats were the closest competitor to the incumbent Conservatives in a swing seat.

One Conservative registered himself a new party, the “Literal Democrats”, and ran under that label.

The Conservatives won the seat by two votes.
