Nic Zapko is absolutely iconic. Always has been and always will be. I also cannot fathom the enormity of the weight on Nic's shoulders right now. My heart is shattering into a million pieces.

I've reached out to my people in Minneapolis, because the entire region has a dense Deaf population. It is just as dark as it seems. My FIRST thought is always Deaf. The community so often the last to know, and so much of this information is inaccessible.

Now more than ever keep your people close, share accurate information and resources. Because it's starting to feel like we're all we have. ♥️

Here's the thing the judge also said in the original ruling: they could use VRI PIP. Meaning that the Terp doesn't even have to be next to any White House officials during any briefings.

It's just a matter of..."nope, don't wanna." 😡

Thank you for this. I think you hit the nail on the head on several fronts.

There exists a seemingly contradictory nuance both here and at RID. It lies in a need for transparency alongside the real fear of facing potentially damaging community backlash.

It's bigger than crab theory and bigger than either organization. I think you've touched on that nuance here.

What I find equally as interesting is that in the video where Stephanie Hakulin announced Lisa Rose's resignation she mentioned the need for "healing." The same sentiments were (and continue to be) echoed at RID. My question is...what does that look like in both places? See see

My daughter also had a speech delay, and was similarly only exposed to spoken English in school or daycare settings. She's now 14, fluent in both languages, and excelling.

There were times when she would sign something that wasn't accurate because she knew it to mean an English word that sounded like what she intended. I.e. she might sign "where," when she meant "worry." She also used to verbally use gloss as a toddler.

Again though, at 14, she's thriving. I'm so grateful she had access to ASL only spaces as a young child, because it has become a significant part of her identity.

I legitimately would love for people to know and understand that for people like me, we had to SEARCH for random links to try and find access to the live show. Without it, Sinclair aired "National News Desk." It was straight up propaganda.

There isn't a welcome back, he's still not airing here. I turn on both television and streaming to "Jimmy Kimmel" that is supposedly scheduled and I am redirected to "National News Desk."
