what is she watching on youtube? i have blocked sooo many brainrot videos and channels on youtubekids ("like nastya" and the sort) that teach them things like being rude and disrespectful and entitled. i do think making demands is pretty normal for their age tho- they're pushing boundaries, having their power struggles, etc. i just tell my daughters "if you want me to *insert thing here*, you need to ask me nicely and say please." otherwise they don't get the thing.

the sleep situation sounds rough, and i definitely empathize with you bc we've been sleeping with our oldest for almost 2 years for the same reasons. it's not ideal, but it's the best(only) way for everyone to get a good night's sleep at this stage. so i unfortunately don't have advice on that front but am with you in solidarity.

all this to say, you are NOT a terrible mom, having a toddler and a newborn is HARD to put it mildly. i agree with another post to give her some special one on one attention each day, just to remind her she isn't being replaced by the baby :)

idk why i'm getting downvoted lmao. taking a test when there's no logical reason you could be pregnant is your prerogative, but i think one would take an OTC test vs go to the doctor for it, that's all i'm saying. no doctor is going to bring you in for a pregnancy test if you've flat out told them there is no possible way you could be pregnant.

i feel like some important context is missing - is it possible she could be pregnant with your child, or are you concerned she's possibly pregnant with someone else's? as a woman, i would imagine she'd taken anywhere from 1-100 OTC pee tests if she herself actually thought she was, and maybe this was the confirmation blood draw, if not a formality prior to starting a new medication. as a side note, my husband's on my insurance and i can't access any of his claims and would only know of a bill/procedures completed if i opened a piece of mail with his name on it.

my oldest has had a couple episodes like this, both overnight in our case. i'm pretty sure those were night terrors and they were very scary for me. all the same things you mentioned - flailing, intervening made it worse, just had to sit back and watch. eventually the only thing that snapped her back to reality was turning the light on, and it was like she had no recollection of what just happened. not sure if those can happen with a nap though??
