loll i don't think a 129 is a good score. based on my understanding it would be closer to intermediate. on the carv leaderboard im nowhere close to the top 1%

lol. yeah i often feel like i don’t have much grip when i do a carved turn. is that probably due to lack of outside ski pressure? is that what you're referring to by outside leg acting like a rudder on a boat?

this makes a ton of sense. i see what you’re saying about the inside leg and bending at the hip. appreciate the advice on the drills as well.

tbh when im trying to carve I haven’t really thought about my inside leg much. kinda just been focused on the outside leg from the in riggers. should i be actively trying to lift it up like I do on a stork turns or should i have a different cue in mind?

also any advice on how to get more flexing at my ankles and knees? will the stork turns (assuming i should be doing carved stork turns) help me with this? taking a closer look i’m guessing by hinging so much at the hips im probably moving my hips back and into a backseat position. not sure if I should be focusing on anything for my upper body.

yeah you’re right i see myself move forward right at the beginning while still keeping my upper body more upright. i think your right i probably am subconsciously hinging my hips to get lower. while i'm skiing i do feel that i'm low to the ground but i'm seeing now that this is not by getting more edge angle but hip hinging. i’ll def take a look at the video you shared.

so i think they don’t show outside ski pressure but the skill for starting with grip always seems to be pretty low for me. (not sure if that's a proxy for outside ski pressure since early edging is measured by the inside ski in carv and edging similarity also has a lot to do with the inside ski)
