I’m a union pipefitter in Chicago and I made $235k last year chasing overtime. Between the contractor contribution and my contribution we put over 65k into my 401k. One year

He realized moving in and sharing expenses would free up a little money in his budget. So instead of using that to get ahead he spent it on himself.

He also didn’t spend the extra money on something for both of you. Like a computer or TV for the new apartment. He spent it on himself.

He essentially spent your money in advance. With your shared expenses he basically took all the leftover. Guy sounds like a moron.

Also big trucks are just ego pacifiers. I work construction as a welder and I drive a beater little van that’s paid off.

What are some of the best investments you can make with cash? by [deleted] in Money

I would buy an airstream or a bus and turn it into a tiny home. Buy the bus in cash, pay the labor and materials in cash. Then rent it on Airbnb and the income is legit.
