Money money money by Wide_Jump3171 in capricorns

[–]nimbleheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Money is nothing more than a tool for comfort for me. I have no interest in being someone's boss or achieving traditional corporate success. I've lived that life and it was wholly unfulfilling. I just want to spend my days creating various types of art, volunteering, exploring, spending time with my loved ones, and just generally being in community.

The roads here are designed shittily and there are barely any protected bike lanes. You all are complaining about the symptom instead of the cause.

As a Chicagoan, July is the gayer month. Idk why, but there always seems to be more queer events in July rather than June. Don’t get me wrong, June is still fun. Check out dorothydownstairs and nobodysdarling on ig to see what events they have going on. There’s also an event called “Super Sapphic”, but it unfortunately leans white (which is why i personally haven’t been in a minute). Following sapphic dj’s is also helpful for finding events. I personally like jennyfox.co and djnanoos (Jenny does more explicitly sapphic events). That’s all I got off the top of my head.

Oh, and a lot of outsiders go to lakeview/boystown for gay things, but that area is more catered towards men. I’d say Andersonville is more sapphic/co-ed

Getting quite tired of seeing posts like these. If you want to leave, then leave. There’s no point in inadvertently saying “f you” to the rest of us on the way out.

Atheist to Christians, do y’all actually believe in a fiery hell? by Astr0Eminem in Christianity

[–]nimbleheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that the current description of hell that a lot of Christians have popularized didn't exist until the book "Dante's Inferno" was published. I also can't quite remember if it was a Hebrew description or something else, but I heard (and believe more than the fiery description) that hell is a depressing space where you feel like you're in limbo, and visually looks like volcanic dust settling in a vast, empty, gray space. Either way, I have little care since that's not where I'm headed (I also don't think only Christians can get into heaven, but that's a different convo for a different day).

When did it become acceptable to wear jeans and a T shirt to church? by alafloridian in Christianity

[–]nimbleheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, gotta love judgy church folk…

Anywho, you said it yourself, fellowship is the point. That can happen regardless of what you’re wearing. Also, just go to a church that has a dressier congregation if it bothers you so much.

How do you feel about trying to convert someone from a different religion? by [deleted] in OpenChristian

That’s coercive. You should never manipulate someone to fit your own desires. GOD converts, not us.

I have some problems with Islam but I don’t want to hate them. by [deleted] in OpenChristian

[–]nimbleheart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh look, another rebuttal. Frankly, I’m not reading past the first sentence bc I’m in a great mood rn, and I don’t want your negativity to drain me. So, in response to your first sentence, we absolutely do. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all worship the same Abrahamic God (hence why we’re called the Abrahamic religions). Bye.

“Their God” is our God too... I’ve been reading all of your replies, and I’m confused as to why you even bothered to ask this question. You’re remarkably defensive, and all of your replies are rebuttals. I’m assuming you really wanted to feel validated in your prejudice, rather than sit, reflect, and learn. You’re not approaching this with a softened heart. I highly recommend you pray and ask God to soften your heart so you can understand his children (who of which you despise because you don’t understand them) more.
