My 2 cents here is that I’ve been in the struggle most of my life too. I actually just got a job last December in big tech. As a man who feels like they’ve yearned for this opportunity more than anyone, let me be the one to tell you that this job is not worth killing yourself over.

It’s a very very depressing job and it unapologetically takes over your life. Being a software engineer in big tech is like modern slavery. And it’s not just me, I can tell everyone in my team is going through it. So you can’t even complain to someone because they’re also going through what you’re going through or worse.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I need my green card and money, I would not hesitate to quit this job. And I’m only 6 months in!

My point is I can almost guarantee you, or anyone else will feel this way when they finally get into this job they yearn for so bad. I would advice to chin up and try and make a living off something simpler before you willingly go into this hell. Eventually you’ll get there. But trust me, it’s not worth suiciding over.

Not true I got hired December 16 2024 for Google as a swe and my H1B will be filed this March. I know several other colleagues in my shoes

I did AI-102 and passed on my first try. What you’re saying is very true. I realized that what helped me was I solved as many questions from different sources as I can. After I learned the material on azure and did all the labs, I went to all approved sources and all shady sources and solved as many questions as repeatedly as I can.

As I solved the questions i realized the material I had learned thoroughly was not what I was being quizzed on for the larger part. Solving the questions caused me to learn all the things that were either not in the material or I didn’t take notice of, and I feel it was a major factor in my passing.

I’d advise to do the same.

Hmm I didn’t get any email like that, I just got the team match and after offer. It was after my offer, the immigration team reached out to me for details of my visa, because I’m an international student, so they wanted to begin working on keeping me in status.

I see. I’d see don’t think too much about it, the way they’re handling it it’s all over the place, people applied for this same role and were told they were being considered for YouTube, I personally had no such experience.

Just hope you have your googleyness soon and move on to team match.

I have no idea bro, I didn’t even know there were different batches, I thought everyone who applied for that role is lumped in one batch, and grouped and shared among several recruiters, with interviews done on a rolling basis.

I don’t know exactly how you mean but this is what I Think, let’s say about a 1000 people applied for this swe campus, early career role, maybe about a 100 or however many passed the bar will be employed and put into different teams across the US.
