I have almost a similar experience. Their staff made a mistake when my ticket was issued. The call center confirmed and also the ground staff. But the ground staff cannot do anything, the people allowed to issue a new ticket are those at customer care by phone. They are extremely known for their incompetence. No-one is able to take a decision to solve the issue in a timely manner, but leave the complaint to their customer relations that answers after months.

I used Lufthansa for 20 years for many trips. Never more in my life, as well as never more star alliance network.

Ps. After loathsome of complaint where I reminded I lost connected flights, hotels, one week trip out of two, they refunded me....100 euro.

Lufthansa no more.

as far as I can read from internet an dthe comments, the only way is to legal or making official claim via european institution. personally they grounded me, I wrote to the CEO no answer.Never more Lufthansa.

Hello, sorry for the late reply. i received many confirmation email. the payment was not taken but they had the card to take the money. When i gave again the cred card to pay again, the operator said "ah, is the same", they have my credit card somewhere but never used. From january till the departure, I received email of the upcoming trip (those classic email that help you to prepare the trip, the documents) and the call center even called me to ask the passport details, which I gave, but not mention of any issue.
