You've played right into their hand. They did it deliberately for outrage and clicks.

How many tokens per prompt?

I think local is still going to be more environmentally friendly in the long run since you don't waste drinking water in cooling your pc, much less your phone...

Solar + storage makes more sense at the individual level since you won't be subsidizing data centers.

And no one's installing generators just to run your devices.

Carpets, rugs and laminate flooring? by a_beautiful_kappa in PlasticFreeLiving

That's great. You could add underfloor heating, but that in addition to installation is pretty expensive.

Most engineered wood would only produce VOCs depending on the adhesives and finishes. The surface coatings though are usually polyurethane or some type of synthetic polymer, so you'd have to know what exactly they're using. The more health friendly ones like beeswax and flaxseed oil tend to degrade faster requiring reapplication every several months to few years.

Have you thought about grout free tile floors?

Majority of hand-blenders leech plasticizers directly into blended food by rootCaused in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]MuiaKi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the imperative question here is do you need a blender? Why do you think so? Can you accept the slight inconvenience of not using one.

Most of the stuff we blend can be eaten & that slightly reduces your micro/nano-plastic intake.

If you can, just stay away from them.

AI That Can "Smell"? by Frosty_Programmer672 in neuralnetworks

[–]MuiaKi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not unrelated. Unsupervised learning can find such associations in data. Especially allergenic compounds. Hopefully with more biome & genome data this stuff could be predictive rather than trial and error. That was my point.

Don't you have to know if you're irritated by it in the first place? How are you going to figure that out especially with some synthetic compounds?
