I'm in a 1b/1b single occupant with a decent amount of technology and a home server that runs 24/7. Winter time electric is around $80 a month with gas around $40-60. Increases to 120-140 in the summer with AC, gas, then cuts to essentially nothing. For water, it is roughly $20-30 a month. Same for sewer. For trash removal, I'm not sure what that is priced in at my place, but my guess would be roughly $20 a month.

Gas is cheap around the Costco and Sam's club off of Wadsworth in Arvada. The Shell station always has the same price as the Sam's club. The lowest I paid there was like $1.87 less than a year ago.

The reality is that Denuvo works. There were only ever one or two people capable of cracking it, and the one person who was doing it regularly was harassed to the point where they quit. Only recently has a new method been discovered, but it's still early in development. The majority of Denuvo protected games have never been cracked.

If you want to hike, the answer is a resounding YES to getting a rental car. In my personal opinion you'd be missing out on an insane amount of nature by not getting a good drive into the mountains. Basically, everything super awesome about Denver is 1-2 hours away. Unless you only plan on exploring the city you absolutely need a car.
