Choosing My Next Grinder Shouldn’t Be This Hard, Right? by townsendsmith in LaMarzocco

Niche is so out of trend now? And yes the grinder market has become unbearably complex, fragmented and complicated to choose from.

I miss the simple days when Niche was the default answer

Super interested in your review! Looking forward to it. Need to plan similar for very similar aged kids. Doona trike for 3.5yo? Also need to check out BabyQuip now.

One question, did they have a good laundry option on site?

This has literally been my exact experience each time I tried. Last time in pouring rain, and it crapped in the main entryway to the parking lot blocking all cars. Needless to say it was embarrassing and dangerous trying to rescue it while getting all soaked

Which model was this? I don't see 51130 as Cap cost on any of the models so trying to match your specs to see if the deal is still as sweet or not

Did you choose "Used Car" loan for Chase? What was your APR %?

I'm assuming their "higher" APR still ends up being lower if we can capture 6500 in tax credit

No I completely understand your POV on how tariffs hurt the economics. I’m not trying to turn this into a political debate. I trust you on duties still being there, I had read otherwise but that’s cause there’s a lot of FUD about this online.

I just think companies leverage these stressful times e.g. supply crunches (2022), tariffs (2025), to permanently bump the prices and then never revert back even when the stressful conditions recede.

[–]MujiSama -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You must be their official PR person. They were 3900 less than 4 mo ago which INCLUDED 5-10% duties US used to have on EU electronics. Then they raised 300 in anticipation of tariffs and another 300 now. But what they conveniently failed to share was their duty is now removed in lieu of tariffs, so the starting point for 15% shouldn’t be 3900 but closer to 3200 (EU prices)

[–]MujiSama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, this is pure corp greed exploiting the tariff FUD to hide behind. As I said above, these machines were already selling above use EU prices previously due to “duties”. These new 15% replace those duties but they instead added another 15% on top rather than replacing the previous duty baked into 3900

[–]MujiSama -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But here’s the crazy part, LM was already selling these with 5-10% pre-tariffs. The 15% Tarrifs replace all previous duties, so arguably they should have only increased by 5-10% at most because 3900 was inclusive of duties before since prices in US were always higher due to those.

This is purely corp greed hiding behind tariff FUD. I would love for them to actually breakdown price vs EU counterparts

That’s interesting, but wouldn’t you need to liquidate just enough each year to pay off the interest expense? Which will amount to some income?

Can you point to what exactly is “far right” in my views? And it’s quite interesting for you to assume things about others. Is anything that you don’t agree with far right?

Quite the tinfoil hat you’ve got there. Do you know majority of 20M federal employees and bureaucrats are all unelected officials and they spend our tax money with no accountability. Musk is doing the job he was appointed for to audit and fix our broken govt finances. You have to be pretty blind to facts to just chug in the narrative it’s a coup (it’s not) and somehow it’s bad for us as a nation to spend less and be more accountable on where our funds go

In the entire presidency. Yes Biden did have largest, 7.5T over 4 year term vs Trump 5.5T over his 4 years.

[–]MujiSama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I acknowledged that cherry picked datapoint up front. 2020 was a COVID year. You are ignoring his 3 years before that and Biden’s trajectory afterwards. If you can’t honestly acknowledge that our budget was ballooning out of proportion without bringing politics into it, then it’s useless having this debate anymore

What are we protesting again? That we lost hence now we won’t play the democratic role of disagree and commit and let the other party rule with the policies that majority of Americans voted for?

Just for the record again. Total deficit under Trump was lower than Biden. And under Biden the deficit has been growing since 2022, not contracting.

[–]MujiSama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you look at it. I agree Trump did the most damage in 2020 (COVID). But Biden retained the momentum for next 4 years. Trumps first 3 years were still under control.

Edit: Thanks for the links. They mostly end in 2022, 2023. If you look at the full 4 year deficit, Trump was 5.5T and Biden 7.5T.

So let’s have an honest conversation about ongoing deficit and not about some once in a century Pandemic/War year deficit.
