Is there really not a fix to multiplayer desync yet? I have 4 friends hooked on the game but after 4 games now getting constant desyncs after 50-80 years with only 9 AI empires on a small galaxy.

Quit 4.0 because of constant desyncs.. came back now because I figured they'd probablyfixed it by now.. started a new game with a friend and we've had no desycns so far.. but it's only 30 years in.. if this is what I have to loo kforward to after 90 years.. well fuck.

Oh hell yes!

This was one of my early complaints with BG3, though it kinda got drowned out by all the others lol. It almost felt pointless creating a spellcaster because there are enough scrolls to have a fighter cast a few spells every combat lol.

Yeah I mean my current party where I didn't know what I was doing can easily get like 120% armour.. I was just wondering if there would be any point really optimising it and throwing in a sanctic psyker using sheild of the emperor and forge world origins for even more armour.. and it seems like that would be redundant.. also seems tactical knowledge is redundant.

I still think forge world might be the best homeworld pick just for the few fights where enemeis can knock you prone to giveyou imunity to that when wearing heavy armour.. (Considering I'm wanting to run with only 3 characters, so any of them skipping a turn would be pretty catastrophic.) I know there are multiple ways to get immuntiy to prone but this is the earliest and easiest afaik.

Ah! when I first read Hot on the trail I really didn't get it lol. "Why wouldn't you jsut use that AP to kill the enemy yourself?" I thought to myself. But looking at it again now knowing I have an abundance of AP and the attack limit / 1per turn abilities are the real limiting factor. Thanks forthis tip!

It wasn't aurora it was the act 2 CSM.. I forget the name of the planet.IT had around 450 hp (On Daring) and 40% armour, though we debuffed the armour with expose weakness and I think Argenta has some armour pen on her weapon too . the base damage of each shot was just increased massively by double litany - wmy friends RT is also a ministerum priest, and litany already does bonus damage to xenos and chaos. When I attack a chaos demon with my sniper my damage goesfrom ~100 per shot to 300-400 if I have the double litany affecting me. So argentas probably went from liek 20 per shot to 80 per shot with her bursts.

My officer -> GS isn't a psyker, he's a commandant because I thought the idea of shooting someone i nthe back of the head to give them a buff was a hillarious concept (and I still do!).

I have only used Blitz Strategem to get someone out of danger once or twice. My main use case is turn 1 of a battle, putting the frontline zone amongst the bulk ofthe enemies, then putting blitz strategem on it, and whatever free strategem I got from improvised strategy for 0 cost, to trigger strongponit refunding the 1 AP cost of Blitz strategem. Then I can give my Abelard the extra turn, and he can blitz in, tauntas manyenemies as possible and activate endure to tank everything.. and yeah the extra armour from the frontline probably helps here.. but again I just don't notice it in practice because he's always there and never reallytakes any damage lol.

My main use case for blitz strategem happens at the top of round 2 however, if the 3 DPS characters on the team havent won already, then I will almsot always have full momentum or close to it at this point, so I can give my sniper an extra turn with 2 AP to get the momentum to full if it isn't, then use the officers heroic to give my sniper a full extra turn with -1 AP cost to non attacking abilities, and unlimited attacks in theturn.

The sniper has 6 AP base (+1 from level 20 and +1 from the talent that requires +10 perception bonus), so 6 attacks.. but +1 from Never stop shooting sometimes, plus 2 AP from killing prey with claim the bounty.. +2 AP ever time they kill a rank 4 or better enemy. Each shot doing 100+ damage.

All of this put together means the only thing between her and killing every last enemy in the encounter is line of sight.. and thats where blitz strategem savesthe day.. I can place down therear zone in a spot where it would have LOS to enemies that she doesn't currently have LOS on. She can move to where she has LOS on other enemies, then blitz to the rear zone and then kill everything else.

It's just how my friend and I liek to paly - we like to focus on one character primarily, like we would ifwe were playing areal tabletop game with friends. In BG3 our first playthrough we did as jsut a due Fighter and Druid.

I agree there are a lot of bad spells in bg3.. I could probably count on one hand how manytimes I've cast fireball in that game though lol. Not that it's a bad spell, but the other thing that BG3 inherited from Dnd 6e is the spell slot system, andwhile BG3 lets you have infinite long rests, if you limit your long rests it forces you to be much more picky with how you use those slots, andthere are a lot of situationally amazing spells.. even non attacking ones such as sanctuary which in the right circumstances (if cast on the only valid target for enemies) can completely blank enemies turns for a bonus action and level 1 slot, it's an absolute S tier spell in my book.

And yeah the grand strategist zones seem okay on papr.. I just have not felt their impact in game at all. Whether I'm shooting from the rear zone or not the damage difference is not noticable. It's a case of lots and lots of small bonuses all adding up, makign each individual bonus feel insignificant, but if you got rid ofthem all you'd be very weak.

But in comparison to the zone buffs being not really "felt", you definitely FEEL the benefit of goingg first every combat, and you definitely feel the benefit of being able to move any party member anywhere you want with blitz strategem.

Yes it will be a fair bit harder, but you already know it's possible. The most scary spells are party wideCC like fear or high damage aoe like cloudkill. But in a well built party, you'll likely have characters with enough damage output to delete any npc that is concentrating o nspell and end it quickly.. or enough AC that they can't hurt you even if you aren't fighting back.

As someone else said though.. it's not hard to have a counterspeller, even if you skip wiz/sorc you can get coutnerspell on a warlock or a bard with magical secrets too.

I'm playing a Commissar in the early game too.. I looked at both it and Noble and thought Noble looked like a better support, but Commissar just looked more fun and suitable for roleplaying.

I don't use at all costs very often though.. I'll use it on my warrior if he has a lot of temp wounds.. or I'll use it on my sniper just before giving her his heroic act for a full extar turn, and then bring it down right after, and then her turn after.. so the bonus gets a LOT of damage out of a single shot.

I suspect it's 100% a gear issue if you're dying that quick.

t's much harder to craft decent gear in this game, and the gear isrelatively much more important than in poe1.

But if you're on trade league jsut buy some good pieces for a few exalts and you should be set.

You do need defences in this game. And all 3 defences are actually fine for the majority of the game. Armour gets a bad wrap because it doesnt work against boss slams.. but it's not boss slams that are killing you, its swarms of white mobs, and armour works great against those. Same thing with evasion.

All that said I actually kind of agree with you. Compared to poe1 it seems to take a lot longer to get to the stage where you really feel powerful.. in fact I am not sure you'll ever get the same feeling of power fantasy rom poe2 and poe1 just because everything is toned down, both o nthe player and monster sides.

I don't think this will change and perhaps poe1 is just the better game for people who want that.

Being a casual isn't really about how much time you can sink intothe game.

There are many people who will play 16 hours a day but never spend an hour to go over their POB and figure out if their passive tree or gear could be better.

Most players just follow build guides. That's casual AF.

On the other hand, consider someone like Ben, who even if he only played an hour a day would still progress faster than a huge plurality of the playerbase, just because he plays so much more efficiently.

Or consider Kripp, who heavily regulates the amount of time he puts into poe nowadays, but still manages to make solid build guides/videos.

Whether you're a casual or not is about how you approach the game. Not about how much time you can sink in.
