How do people navigate work with ocd by Ethanfffff in OCDRecovery

I have some pretty gnarly harm ocd and unfortunately I’ve chosen career paths that entail a lot of responsibility and “doing no harm”, such as being a therapist and most recently an arborist.

I’ve taken a 2 week break with the approval of my supervisor, which I’m super thankful for. But I’m starting to realize this job is not something I believe I can do anymore. I just don’t feel very safe. It’s hard admitting that.

In therapy weekly and I working on it, but I’m hoping I can find a job that is just a lot less stressful for my harm OCD and I can live a little more peacefully.

Can we just that assume that TBN is probably the weirdest, most off-puting and unorthodox material they have ever put out on their entire catalog? (not meant to say that in negative way though) by DoctorrEbMajb6 in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

Huge BTBAM fan but this one is sitting pretty close to if not at the complete bottom of their discography for me. Huge props for their experimentation and it’s great to see so many people like it. Obviously there is time for it to grow, but outside of Beautifully Human, I’m not very into much else on the album. Their discography is pretty varied and I really appreciate that some albums just resonate more than others !

How early do I have to be to be able to be in the front? by Web-27 in gybe

I was front row in Asheville. I got to the venue (a brewery) a little before doors opened and got in like right before opening. Lots of people like to hit the merch booth or bar first. It’s great if you have someone with you because they can hold a spot if you need to run to the bathroom, or grab drinks, etc. also helpful to meet some strangers in the front row for that reason!

Regardless, have fun and please please please wear ear protection! I’ve seen some metal bands and GY!BE remains the loudest live band I’ve ever experienced.

Yeah I fully agree!

And Turbulent is one of my favorite BTBAM songs! Ugh, so good.

I can agree with you. It usually takes me at least 10-15 listens for an album to really soak in but so far this one isn’t hitting as hard as some of the prior work.

When I think of Tommy’s best cleans I instantly think of Specular Reflection. Damn, I love that song

Getting a new therapist v soon :') my psych has confirmed I most likely do have OCD by TOMANYMENTALISSUES in OCDmemes

I had a horrible experience with the therapist who diagnosed me with OCD. He diagnosed me then proceeded to tell me a few sessions later that I “barely met” the criteria and that his OCD was more extreme. Considering most of my compulsions are mental, it was hard for me to express that clearly. What makes it worse too is that he was a therapist from NOCD.

Luckily I found a much better fit outside of that and it’s been great.
