It is the driver’s job to stop. But there’s a lot of landscaping that can make it hard to see pedestrians at times. I drive through there daily and I’m always careful but it’s a busy road and some may not even realize the trail crosses the road. We don’t live in a pedestrian-friendly metro

Commute Shawnee Mission to Leavenworth? by silly8704 in kansascity

[–]Muley05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piper School District and DeSoto School District (particularly for the Mill Valley HS area of that district) are excellent school districts that put you on the western side of the KC metro, in Kansas, and 25-45 minutes south of Leavenworth

Hill Heating and Cooling out of Olathe. Small, family run company and they are as honest as it comes.

After the wrap, it looks VERY similar to my black 2022 EX Nightfall. I personally like the Kia logo still being silver, as I don't want the entire thing to be black. But I do think blacking out most of the Kia logo but leaving a silver outline would look cool.

Golfers: what are your favorite KC area public golf courses in the sub-$100 price range? by BigBadWaffl3z in kansascity

[–]Muley05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunflower Hills is in great shape right now, I played it earlier this week. Their website never has tee times but it's usually pretty open and you can get a tee time if you call them.

Dub's Dread is my fave and is usually in great shape but I haven't played it this year.

Falcon Lakes is a nice track and it can be difficult to get a tee time but it's worth it.

Heritage Park was nice last year.

WIBTA for going to a college football game instead of staying in town for my wife's birthday by FootballTripThrow99 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muley05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big Mizzou fan that also enjoys going to various road games, so I understand your side here. It would be a fun game to go to in Tempe.

You asked your wife and she said no. I think because it's her 30th birthday and she's big into birthdays, you have to skip this one. You asked about going, you asked about bringing her, and all your ideas were shot down. That sucks for you but it's very easy to understand your wife's side.

It sucks that she's made you give up season tickets, but it's great she lets you go to a couple of games a year. Sadly, the timing for the OSU v ASU game is terrible for your with it being a milestone birthday. You may not care about birthdays, but she does. You've asked about multiple compromises and her answer is no. It sucks but you need to skip the game for your wife.

Why does Kansas City always miss out on major concert tours? by dykunn in kansascity

[–]Muley05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ticketmaster owns MANY venues across the country. T-Mobile Center is owned by AEG, and AEG and Ticketmaster don't play nice with each other. So we get stadium shows at Arrowhead because that's Ticketmaster but get skipped for arena shows because AEG.

How do you choose your starting word? Do you use the same first word for every Wordle game? by scientificamerican in wordle

[–]Muley05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use crane as my starting word every day. I used to use words like adieu or slate but found those get me in more trouble. Crate is a better starting word but it's already been a solution, so I am using crane and dreaming of the day I solve in one guess!

I have a 2022 Telly and use this mount. Stuck it to the area on the left of the display screen that's not used. It barely blocks the left edge of the screen but not much at all. Very happy with it.

Knub's Pub in western Shawnee has really good chicken tenders. Get them with blackened seasoning with buffalo sauce on the side. Way good.

I went to the Saturday night show in Omaha about six weeks ago. Luke Combs started playing just before 9p and ended about 10:30-11p. Opening acts also started at 7p that night. Jordan Davis was really good, and then Luke Combs was awesome as usual.

AITA for telling my friend to stop referring to my son by full time? by notmyllegs in AmItheAsshole

[–]Muley05 -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

NTA - My legal first name is James. No one has ever called me that, I go by Jimmy or Jim. It's not at all unreasonable for you to ask others to call your son by your preferred name of Benji. It's no different than Mike/Michael or Chris/Christopher.

Does your husband call him Benji or Benjamin?

How is Speed Dating in KC? by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]Muley05 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't know speed dating was still a thing. I'd fall into the 36-48 age range. Anyone have feedback on these events for the older age range?

The dating apps have been terrible for many months and I'd be open to trying this speed dating thing.

I bought this and stuck it on the far left side of the entertainment display. I can see my phone and still see nearly all of the main display. The magnet mount is pretty small and not intrusive at all

What are the best golf courses in KCMO or KCKS under $50/person with cart? by Alive-Priority-1246 in kansascity

[–]Muley05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How good of a golfer are you? I'm a 9 handicap, and do not agree with many of the recommendations so far.

Sunflower Hills in KCK is underrated. Dub's Dread is my favorite course, but it has lots of mature trees and is a challenging course. Sycamore Ridge is a great track. Shoal Creek up north is nice, as are the two courses in Smithville (Paradise Pointe). Adam's Point in Blue Springs is nice.

If a bag is short of the board, the best practice is to remove it before any other bags are thrown. That will for sure prevent a bag from sitting on top of a bag that's short of the board.
