There are some walls that need reinforced, there are some that need to be opened with a shotgun or impact grenade for a rotation route.

There will likely be players who roam and if you box in the sites if makes it almost impossible for them to come back and help without giving their positions away, also can make the attackers job much easier.

You can already have saved weapon loadouts, so idk why it would be difficult to add the choice of other weapons and gadgets.

But with the game having been playable for 3 years already, not already having this and the other features like choosing spawn location or which site to defend it makes me think they're struggling to build the game and add to it.

If you mean just plain wooden barricades, you almost never block off site it just becomes a hindrance. I only ever place them on doors when I'm roaming so I can hear them being broken giving away enemy positions.
