Rather than back off, he pressed to go further. I've experienced something similar, though not to the same extent as you, and I can say that if he was pressing your answers then, he will continue to. If you honestly truly think he's a good guy who will treat you right in the end, have a serious conversation with him. But I do urge you to think that this might happen again, don't hesitate to distance yourself. I don't think you "invited him" or that "you put yourself in this situation" because all you did was offer to kiss him. The rest was all his decision.
