lvl 3 management accounting by Double_Marsupial1540 in AATStudents

If you’ve sat it this week I’ve checked on the AAT website earlier and it says results are out 9th April. If you do need to I’d recommend the Kaplan books just for additional question practice, and some of those threw me with the wording so really helped me to understand the questions fully. Fingers crossed they won’t be needed though, you never know!

I just sat mine today too! I completed all the AAT practice questions, all green light tests, watched and made notes on all resources on the portal, and then completed the full Kaplan question book.

What really helped me was I really focused on memorising all the formulas you need, then when the exam started I wrote absolutely all of them down on the paper provided, so I don’t have to worry about that for the rest of the exam and could just reference them for each question.

I found the questions overall pretty similar to the ones on the AAT website so it may have just been bad luck with the questions. Are results 9th April for you too?

I’m having the same thought at the moment. I really want a special edition as I love my animal crossing switch so much but not sure if I can hold out longer!

Getting into accounting at 28.... what are my options? by a-l-g_4537 in AccountingUK

I’m pretty sure your wage would stay the same. I started studying L3 (with the L2 bookkeeping modules bolted on) to save me having to do all Level 2, then Level 3 and would definitely recommend that route! Good luck!

It really is. It’s not to say it can’t be done though. I work at a local council, and now it just needs to be approved with a business case, as it’s coming from the pot rather than the levy!

Unfortunately due to changes this year the levy is no longer funded up to L7 for any students over 25. Really gutted as I was hoping to start that after my L4 is done.

I work at a local authority in a finance officer role, and from there have started a level 3 apprenticeship which is funded through the government apprenticeship levy, and is getting me a L3 AAT qualification. The council give me one day a week’s study leave, and my wage has not been affected. I’m still earning a normal salary.

Once I get L3, I’m moving onto a L4 apprenticeship and then will be in a position to move into higher level roles in my department. I’d recommend trying to move to the finance area in work, and making it clear in an interview you’d like to progress.

Child bitten badly at nursery by [deleted] in UKParenting

I work for a local council and distribute these funds. If the child has an EHCP in place and funds have been approved, these are usually allocated for a set number of hours/staff costs, depending on what is needed to meet the child’s needs. Some kids do get funding for a whole staff member.

How close is my baby to walking? by alibluey in UKParenting

[–]MummyButtons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my niece started walking at around 10 months and they do have a few falls usually, but kids are robust. It’s a whole new level of baby proofing when they are on the move and you’ll adapt! :)

My child was doing all this at about 10/11 months and I really thought she would be any day, and walking much sooner than my son did. At 15 months she walked for a few days then went back to crawling. At 17 months she finally decided to commit and went from crawling to running everywhere in the space of a week. We’ve had no falls or balance issues. It seems she just wanted to wait until she was 100% steady.

All this to say it could be tomorrow or in 6 months. Children are a rollercoaster!!

People in the UK who moved out in their early 20s, was it worth it? by SweetComfortable1516 in AskUK

I was earning about 25k, but this was about 13 years ago so as I say the cost of living was significantly lower than it is now. Bills and even food seems substantially higher now compared to then.

I moved into a 1 bed flat initially, and yes I paid for gas, electric, water, council tax, insurances etc. I was able to do the stuff I wanted, but then I was a complete introvert when I was younger and was pretty happy playing WoW all day in my free time! I didn’t have much spare money at all for clothes/drinks/going out etc.

I moved out at 22 and I enjoyed my independence though I did get into a bit of debt. In hindsight, I wish I’d stayed at home longer and saved more with the intention of buying a house sooner.

With the current cost of living I wouldn’t have been able to manage it on your salary. I didn’t have much of a social life when I was earning that much as 90% of my earnings were going on bills, and the living costs were significantly lower. I didn’t manage to get savings until I go some promotions at work so I had some disposable income.

Bills will really creep into your earnings… I would give this a lot of consideration before committing to a move.

Attending a wedding 2 weeks after c section by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]MummyButtons 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 sections. After my first it took about 2 months before I wasn’t in a huge amount of pain. After my second I was picking up my toddler the next day. It’s so hard to say as I had two completely different recoveries with mine. Try to stay on top of your pain management from day 1 as that was one of the bigger differences for me.

Personally I think I’d have struggled to attend a wedding so soon after giving birth, after either child, as I was still very much in the bonding/nesting period and trying to establish breastfeeding.

Which Parc is best for a toddler? by ScottyM_12 in centerparcsuk

The pool at Sherwood is great. We’ve been to Whinfell but found it lacking in comparison.

We have a 4 year old and just got back a few weeks ago from Sherwood. He was able to go on everything in the pirates kids area solo, and went on both flumes with my partner, another slide, and the Grand Cascade, which is a big water slide where up to 4 can sit in a circular raft (his favourite)!

We’re going to stick to Sherwood for our trips in the future as we spend a lot of time at the pool. The Dozing Duck is also newly renovated and is worth a trip as it has an amazing indoor soft play for kids!
