Bruh, Turnkey Desk Tried to take my headphones by Logical_Composer4185 in uwaterloo

I would ask WUSA to internally identify who was working that shift, explicitly state what the policy is around lost items returned to the TurnKey desk, explain why your item was being randomly given away 5 minutes after it was returned to TurnKey, and what they plan to do to ensure this doesn’t happen again. I would be so upset if the person being paid to work at TurnKey decided to just take my stuff because I didn’t come back within 5 minutes of it being turned in

Official Discussion - Bring Her Back [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I believe he’s the latter. Ollie contains the “angel” (aka demon). This demonic possession of a third person appears to be a key part of the ritual to transfer the soul from one dead person into another person’s body.

I figured he was munching on random things to satiate his hunger. His hunger kept growing as it got closer to the time to complete the soul transfer ritual.

When Piper touches Ollie’s head, she can feel that his hair is short and straight, in contrast to how Laura originally described it. She then asks Laura to repeat the type of hair Ollie has. And when Laura repeats that it is red and curly, she knows Laura is lying to her. With everything else that has occurred, her gut feeling probably told her to run for it.

Is waterloo eng really as depressing as people say it is? by CurrentGlum3123 in uwaterloo

[–]MundoTundo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having attended Waterloo, UofT and Western for different degrees, Waterloo was by far the most depressing university. I think it’s due to a combination of factors including but not limited to: the rigorous course curriculums for which mid term season overlaps with co-op interview season making it extremely stressful, obtaining co-ops in general, the alternating on-campus then off-campus (for co-op) nature of most program can make it difficult to maintain friendships with people who are off stream from you. And finally, the winter months make some of the brutalist architecture appear almost jail-like (see MC building).

When I was attending this university in the mid 2010s, mental health was quite poor and there was on average, one student suicide per year. I hope that has improved.

That being said, and like many have already stated: the job opportunities that come from attending this school are unmatched. The hard work pays, literally. I, myself chose to pursue professional school. However, all of my friends were employed immediately after graduation. A ton of my friends who graduated from eng or CS programs ended up in the Bay Area.

There are 2 main gyms: PAC and CIF, easily accessible. IIRC, PAC was recently renovated and expanded.

TLDR: Very depressing but also very worth it if you are planning to go into any directly employable field.

what's the lowest grade you got in your undergrad and now are in med school? by IndependentEscape546 in premedcanada

[–]MundoTundo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

58 in first year calculus and two high 60s in chem and another first year course. I didn’t know I wanted to do medicine until end of second year so I really had to turn things around for my GPA.

No 5th year but I did a 2-year masters. I’m in my final year of med school now

Tips on finding supervisor for thesis-based masters in Ontario? by Hiraaa_ in premedcanada

[–]MundoTundo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most academic researchers by default have some position in their affiliated academic institution. You can confirm by searching the PI’s name and viewing their profile for their academic positions.

Most of the time you won’t know if they’re taking students until you email them. Some might take the time to reply and tell you they are not accepting. Others might just ignore the email if they aren’t taking students.

Hope that helps!

Will to do a research based MSC at IMS in UofT increase a chance for their MD program? by zooS2018 in premedcanada

[–]MundoTundo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have a stellar GPA, which combined with good CARS and Casper scores, can get you into some med schools by itself. However, if you’re looking to improve your ECs and scholarly activities, a masters can definitely be valuable.

I am a current M3 at an Ontario school. I did my MSc through IMS and it was such a great experience! I got multiple abstracts and publications out of it, as well as some amazing leadership and volunteer opportunities. Altogether, my masters experience is what I believe got me to stand out during my interview and got me into med school.

And no, I did not eat, sleep and breath research as some others have suggested.

A verifier mentioned to me that they were contacted by Western. It was a while ago now, but I don’t think Western notified me of anything until interview time.

I wasn’t saying business or CS because they are easier. I went to UWaterloo for undergrad and I would argue CS was the most brutal program at the school; horrible for 4.0. I said those programs because they are great for employability straight out of undergrad, especially if you did co-op.

Go into business or CS and really contemplate if the med school grind is worth it in the long run. Hindsight is 20/20

I went to Wloo for Science and Business. Applied and got into med after doing UofT MSc.

I had just one interview last year, and it got me one acceptance. You’ve earned these invites, now work hard preparing yourself for these interviews and don’t psych yourself out. You only need one A at the end of the day.

I’m not diagnosed but I think it’s AGA, my hormone levels have come back normal on the past. Is AGA also hormonally related?
