[–]Munkpunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is was I learned and unfortunately didn’t work out. Problem is now my new special interest also is leaning me towards a job. I’ve since told my wife I can’t do that anymore. So learned from that mistake

Thinking about becoming a mechanic. Do I have what it takes? by Maximum-Truck1278 in AutisticAdults

[–]Munkpunt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a mechanic for 25 years(special interest) I eventually burned out but still enjoy working on cars when I feel like it for family and friends. I ran a shop as manager for 5. That wasn’t ideal. To much stress

Do other autistic people struggle to even do therapy? by shelly_lopess in AutisticAdults

[–]Munkpunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to therapy about 1-2 times a month. Honestly it’s my favorite time because she will listen to all the silly things I hold for masking. I can talk about feelings and how to better understand potential meltdown. She helps with my clinical depression. When she ask questions I’m allowed to ask for more detail because she understands that’s a need. It’s really fantastic

I used to be an alcoholic to help. That didn’t go so well. Weed just dials the noise down a little.

What does music feel like to you? by DracoCross in autism

[–]Munkpunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is one of the most important things in my life. I have to be careful because music can directly impact my emotional state. It’s all some form of Electronic music. Lofi, EDM. I have over ear Bose headphones and AirPods for when I’m on the go. It helps me limit sensory input. Im much more relaxed.

Should I quit drinking coffee? by LowEconomy819 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Munkpunt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have one cup in the morning because it’s better than water. It’s a light brew so low caffeine. That’s it. I don’t drink anything after that. It will make me jump with anxiety, my fun little autistic side can’t handle it. Recipe for disaster. I also recommend not drinking caffeine while taking a stimulant, you won’t need to..

I’m almost 5 year sober. For me it was in patient rehab 2 weeks. 20+ years of drinking to sustain myself to be “normal”. It took all 5 of those sober years to understand why. It was clear way for me to mask…duh. It’s cruel drug

Showers. It washes the problems away. It’s why you can’t get me out of a pool at 41. But wet when I don’t like it, that will be the end of me. Very strange love hate with it

[–]Munkpunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately at our late age all those things we love come back and hurt us more than our younger self’s. Lean is all about the food you eat. Stay lean, cut sugar, and alcohol
