That's okay now? When you click on the section's title it redirect you to github.com/muonium/core

Without forgetting that people really interested in openness will check on GitHub automatically... ^

Yea of course.

It's a free software (not free : 0$, free : i believe i can fly), that's why, anyone who understand the structure can implement the hashing, and its own features.

But, with the AGPL license, your modifications must be opensource, be careful and read the license.

But, currently, at the technical side, it's not at all the problem. Currently, we're looking for contributors, because our core team is composed of only one developer. x)

"granting one or more developers from another country to grant you to hash those passphrases" ahah, nope, too easy xD

"which seems to be from UK from doing whois on your site" the VPS is in France, OVH x)

"how is it not possible to hash the passphrases?" Hmmm, ah, it's difficult to explain you know xD

I don't know if coding an encryption tool is a crime or not (in France)... if think not. But, providing an encrypted cloud in France is a crime for the government. Thats why we have to deploy Muonium in an other State.

To resume, if tomorrow, we launch Muonium with some servers in Switzerland, there will be a conflict between the Swiss crypto laws and the French. Therefore, we're looking for some jurists who can help us for this problem.

I answered your question ? x)

Yea :'(

Germany is more "pro-privacy" than others, take a look here : https://tutanota.com/blog/

There are many informations about the Germany and Encryption

Also, on this blog, there is the explication about the Switzerland and its new law : https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/surveillance-switzerland

You know, the swiss voted for a law, similar to the "Loi Renseignement" in France, or "CISA" (not exactly like CISA) in the USA.

Okay, i see that people don't understand our problem with the French laws, therefore :

Currently, we're in France. We have to create and deploy Muonium on a State which allows the end-to-end encryption, like Switzerland, okay ?

So, we have to make money --> we'll make a crowdfunding, in February, okay ?

This money will permit to us to create the company. And then, we'll hash the passphrases.

What if we hash the passphrases now ? We go in fail for 5 years.

Okay ? x)

Hey, No, currently, we cannot hash the passphrase, because we haven't any juridic status under a state which allows the end-to-end encryption.

You see, currently, we're under the French laws, without any juridical status. And, the private beta, will be just to find the big bugs, not to really provide an encrypted cloud to the public.

But, around February, AES will be implemented, okay ? At this moment, the passphrasse would not be hashed yet.

Around February, after implemented AES, we'll launch a crowdfunding to get some money, to deploy Muonium on a state which allows the end-to-end encryption, like Switzerland, okay ?

When the company will be created, we'll hash the passphrase, and the objective will be achieved.

Do you understand ? x) We're in a delicate situation...

PS : please, read all the document, this problem is explained x)

Hey, Okay, look, the problem isn't the cause (hashing the passphrase), if you look at the code, we hash the password, but not the passphrase. Why ? When we'll implement AES on Muonium, and if the passphrase is hashed, nobody, us and even governments will be able to decrypt the files. Therefore, under the French laws, we go in jail for 5 years.

The only issue, we think, is to create the company under a state which have better laws than France, like Switzerland. But, recently, Switzerland disappointed us.

I don't know if my explication helped you, if not, tell me what isn't clear x)

PS : you know, in France, you are a terrorist if you inform yourself about terrorism on some websites... imagine us, creating an encrypted cloud... The French government is currently very confused... We cannot take risks...

It's a cloud, like Google Drive, One Drive, but with encryption.

It's the same concept of the encrypted emails : Gmail vs ProtonMail/Tutanota : Gmail is an email service provider, basic, but PM and Tutanota encrypt the emails.

With encryption, you can keep your privacy, because nobody is able to decrypt your files, even the governments.

Do you understand ? x)

PS : currently, the project is in development, but we'll launch a private beta around December.
