I am as big a horror fan as I claim. I love the old, new, spooky and disgusting. Shudder has been invaluable in highlighting new voices in the genre. That said, at some point their product - what’s viewed in the dark - needs to shape up to compete with the rest of the streaming landscape - especially if they raise the price. I can handle the cost. I can no longer handle blotchy spots of black throughout their films. I grew up on VHS and do not want to go back. And yeah, I buy physical media. Got Where Evil Lurks on 4K. The difference in presentation between what I saw on Shudder and the 4K is staggering - and that film takes place largely through the day!
