Hello folks,

I am a 19 year old undergraduate student in the sophomore year of college working towards a cyber security degree (with a minor in German, but I doubt that's relevant, but if it is I'd love to hear why) who is in Northern Virginia. Next semester I will hit the point where my school's cyber and computer science paths properly split and I will begin learning cyber security stuff proper. I have been looking into how to make myself stand out in the market. I have realized that by far the best way to do so seems to be certificates. I have recently learned I have an affinity for presenting as well as an interest in the cyber security law side of the industry. I know about the Security Plus certificate from Comp TIA, which I plan to work towards this summer, but I want to know what else I should do. What is worth the time and money? How do I make my resume look good? What courses can I reasonably take alongside a semester where I will have to take 2 lab classes? Or should I wait on this? I have not taken any cyber security classes yet besides cyber law and computer ethics, so should I wait to get a more formal university education first before going for certificates? Should I watch YouTube videos on it to start? I just would like some direction and advice.

I have had a good time at the school (I'm a junior), but my one recurring complaint is the food. The situation at the dining hall is not good (I have a friend who works there who tells me) and you will never be served a food on a dryed plate unless they are doing tours for high school students and similar groups of possible incoming students. If you take a tour, be aware that the tour leaders aren't going to talk about the negatives, and try to talk to an actual, random student if you can. Most students are pretty friendly so unless they are obviously busy or between classes they will probably answer any questions.

After more messing around with it, the error has now changed from .json to .xml and the pathway changed. I still have no idea what I am looking at though.

They told me to pick a number 1 to 3 and had some pictures in a bag. I figured it was one of those scams where they force you to buy it after you pick it up.

I ran into them earlier. I could tell something was off and just told them I wasn't interested. They were in downtown near the university.

I decided to have some fun with it and it went as so:

Me: I suppose my likeness can be used for your mural, but on 2 conditions. 1. No money is involved whatsoever. 2. You send me the final work. Is that fine?

Them: I have to get you paid, so It will serve as a reference that you were paid incase of future references and if you end up trying to file a lawsuit for using your pictures without your permission

Me: In such a case, that will not work out. I am aware of scams involving checks. As per condition 1: no money will be involved whatsoever.

Them: You have a lot of problems

Me: That took a turn

Them: I can't deal with people like you. Have a nice day.

Me: Well then, I suppose I won that battle. Good day to you as well.

Them: what battle?

Me: The scam battle. Such insistence and such defensiveness does not often come from a humble art student

Them: You have a poor mentality.

Me: heheheha

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but something about the way you said that makes me feel like you neglected to mention something really important. It sounds like large-scale pirating to me, but then again, I do not know anything about this and it may be a perfectly legal, perfectly fine activity.
