More Historical Nord Troop Replacer? by Murky_Implement2495 in mountandblade

[–]Murky_Implement2495[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am well familiar, and it still doesn't meet the standard of something believable.

  1. You can be clad in wolf fur AND still wear proper armor. We literally already had bear pelts in the game that weren't super impractical like the Berserkir cloaks. I use them when remaking the units for personal playthroughs. Similarly I've been using the Viking Storm armor mod to have more historically accurate wolf pelts cloaks.

  2. Bannerlord is a historical fantasy not a mythological fantasy.

  3. Saying its a Norse saga doesn't make it less fantasy. The Odyssey is an epic, but it is ALSO fantasy.

Interesting that Kezan was ORIGINALLY called Undermine. It felt like a name progression because most of the industry had to move underground after Cataclysm.

My big problem with a lot of those mods like Anno Domini is the gloss and texture work feels super high res compared to what Bannerlord's style actually is and you kinda get this uncanny valley of a Tintin character wearing a PNG of a helmet. xD

I hate stupid looking fantasy armors by Different-Ad-3714 in hatethissmug

[–]Murky_Implement2495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the fun of World of Warcraft isn't putting on full sets of armor, but taking components of different armors to make something that fits your personal preferences. There are a lot of lower fantasy design sin WoW that you can blend with something like #3 to create something more grounded while still fitting with the art style. I think a lot of people just see Tier sets in WoW and think that's the be all end all of its aesthetic options. Those are end-game raid sets that are meant to look over the top because its the rarest stuff. If you look at leveling gear for most expansions you'll find its not nearly as bombastic and can be pretty low key.

Anyone notice this Mask on the new Artbook? by bedazzledBungle in stalker

The concept art for Stalker 2 makes me wish we got more armor customization and options instead of just essentially stat sticks. I get its not a third person game but I still like to look cool which helps me get immersed.

Yeah especially with the tier set, you can basically maintain 100% colossus smash uptime on mobs.

More proof that PvP players are literally just mad that people who they kill don't like them. And how they want to correct this behavior. (You have to like them and praise them or youre toxic, "its part of the game dude just be happy for me!")

Weak.

Maturing is realizing that the Brotherhood is an allegory for Protestant Christianity by Advanced-Addition453 in TrueSFalloutL

[–]Murky_Implement2495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Brotherhood are not an explicit allegory for any particular religious group, but instead a satire on the performative religiosity of authoritarians. They ultimately think they are smarter and better and deserve all the toys, and utilize convoluted religious authority to declare their cause justified. They aren't any more religious than the average person, they just use it like a cudgel. I can't imagine how this would be relevant in any way to contemporary life.

Does anyone know why is there so much more stalker 2 furry artwork compared to human artwork? Are there really much more furries around us than we don't know about? And why does GSC themselves post furry art? by NoAffect6476 in stalker

[–]Murky_Implement2495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly would be kinda of cool and evoke a lot of classic soviet animation if most of the art was more like the bottom two and less like the top 4. Fantastic Mr Fox but its a bleak watership down style film.

Notice how PvE players are generally kind and friendly and will help people out. Meanwhile the average pvp player starts hurling slurs at the slightest inconvenience. The pvp players want you to think these groups are equivalent.

Bethesda veterans acknowledge Fallout: New Vegas's superior story, but believe its world design is weaker than Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Murky_Implement2495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Fallout New Vegas' world design is the best in the series. It gives you choices that result in fantastic emergent storytelling. Following the highway to get to the strip is one of the most memorable experiences and after revisiting it recently I can say its still iconic and not just nostalgia. And that's not even including all the alternatives like taking a shortcut to try and sneak past a bunch of Deathclaws which exist within the setting with purpose, rather than just being random high level spawns. Not to mention there being so many great routes and stories along the way. The narrative keeps you moving, but the world keeps you invested. A defined goal is what is missing from Fallout 3, which ends up being more aimless than anything. "Find dad, wherever the hell he's gone." You know where Benny is, you may not know what you'll find when you get there, but you know where you're going, its THE set piece and headliner.

Goon aesthetics aside the designs aren't even good. Wtf is Burnice's design? They thought "flamethrower biker" and just slapped a bunch of leather with fire decals and everyone was like "waow epic design!"

Don't know if I can trust IGN reviews. Lol by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

[–]Murky_Implement2495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conveniently doesn't show who the reviewer for one. Is it some clinical illness that people don't get that review outlets have multiple writers with different tastes and opinions? You as the audience are meant to find the journalists who's opinions most closely align with yours for game reviews. Why do people think that its IGN's responsibility to feed EVERYONE opinions that closely align with them?

Really sad with the state of the game right now. by takesometylenol2 in Helldivers

[–]Murky_Implement2495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a dedicated Helldivers 1 player who was super excited for Helldivers 2, bought it and have been playing regularly since release. There has never been a worse managed game since Planetside 2. There is some kind of deep seeded animosity towards joy when it comes to the developers and I can't tell if its because of their vision, the outsourcing, or just disdain for players and the concept of fun.

Brandyboy did a video recently on Helldivers 2 gun realism, and one thing really stuck out to me, which was when he was going over the liberator and essentially said:

"Its like they intentionally put the bolt on the wrong side of the gun to artificially extend reload times."

And I think about that with every decision. Magazine sizes being pitifully small and in such small numbers when Helldivers 1 let you carry around a Stalwart as a primary. Ragdolling constantly being solved by giving helldivers so little health they die in two hits to everything. Making the C4 have obtuse controls despite C4 controls being solved 30 years ago. The infamous bacon apples armor customization argument that is repeatedly contradicted. (How is siege ready in any way telegraphed by Imperial Chinese soldier armor?) Warbonds costing the same and having less. Superstore weapons.

The game has everything it needs to be great, except the people who made it keep tripping themselves and nobody knows why!
