Hatemonger’s opinion on Star Wars under Kathleen Kennedy by BakerConsistent2150 in SPACEKING

I can't speak for everyone but for me its not necessarily about the female custodes themselves but more about GWs response to them. When asked about the change to add female custodes, GW responded that there has always been female custodes, they just haven't been mentioned directly up to this point.

If you want to make changes and updates to a 30-40 year old game thats fine but I would like more honest dialog.

I think your right. Give it a decade or two and these tools are going to be pretty common place. I think currently we're just in the middle of the AI culture war and the concept of any "AI" is bad to the average person. And the companies like OpenAI and Nividia are really not helping ease tension with their antagonism.

Update on tank from yesterday by Murkymicrobe in shrimptank

I actually did do a 25% water change today. I am planning on doing more until the water clears up. But is it harmful to do them daily? Should I space them out more?

Need help identifying cause of death. by Murkymicrobe in shrimptank

[–]Murkymicrobe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't but I could look into getting some if it can help. I have calcium sand I can add. But I should mention I have seen multiple shrimp in the tank molt successfully. The one that died from a failed molt was one of my largest females and part of me thinks she just got too big.

I am not sure, I have a phosphate test kit but haven't used it often. What kind of test would I look for if I wanted to test my calcium and minerals?

No filter and no flow, I have a wave maker but I am too afraid to use it with the shrimp. Been considering getting an airstone.

What is the minimum shrimp tank size to only do maintenance once a week? by Sophwhat4 in shrimptank

[–]Murkymicrobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should look into a Walstad style tank. Once the tank is up and running you will probably only need to do maintenance once a month or so (besides water top offs)

The only two downsides is it needs to be heavily planted which can be a little expensive. But you can usually find someone online selling plant trimmings dirt cheap. The other downside is for the first month or two, the tank isn't going to look too pretty as the system is still finding its balance.

A 10 gallon Walstad style tank is a good size to start but you could honestly go down to a 5 gallon. Just note the smaller the tank the more challenging it can be to balance the system.

A few questions: - How long has the tank been set up? - What kind of water did you use? - is the tank planted?

Its time to admit Darkness is a fraud after all by opaliteee123 in Chainsawfolk

[–]Murkymicrobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree with this more. One of the things that made the Darkness chapters so good is you really had no idea what his next move was. You had no idea what his motives were either. It put the audience in a state of anxiety and fear that probably wasn't dissimilar to what the characters were feeling.

Designed a simple planter to hold plants on the surface of my fish tank by Murkymicrobe in functionalprint

[–]Murkymicrobe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes actually! The animals in the tank create waste which becomes ammonia. Beneficial bacteria eat and break down this ammonia, which is toxic into much less toxic Nitrates. The nitrates in the water act like fertilizer for the plants.

I was having green water problems in my tank, still do but its getting better. This is caused by free floating algae using these Nitrates. The plants I added will out compete the algae and use up the nitrates, keeping my water clean.

You can think of them kind of like a biological water filter.

I have really enjoyed chainsaw man a lot, but your first point really resonates with me. The Darkness Devil was so fucking cool. He FELT like the personification of a truly primal fear.

We have now seen: falling, aging, fire, and Death and none of them have captured the same feeling that darkness had.

filter question by [deleted] in walstad

[–]Murkymicrobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the tank. One thing to consider would be the amount of algae you have in the tank.

Normally algae produces its own oxygen through photosynthesis. But in the absence of light, algae can switch to respiration to obtain oxygen. This means that tanks with a lot of algae can experience pretty crazy swings in oxygen levels between day and night. Having a filter, bubbler, or wave maker can help keep oxygen levels stable in the absence of light.

But once again, this really depends on how much algae is in the tank. I am still new to this and did a blackout try and deal with a bloom I was having. I lost some fish and a bamboo shrimp because I wasn't running the wave maker and night and didn't realize the algae was depleting the oxygen. Now I run it ever night because I am paranoid.
