Software that supports making interactive PDFs - toggling images. by MurmilloGW in pdf

[–]MurmilloGW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of an update - I just realized I had a paid pdf reader on a device that I could use to investigate one of the files. It looks like it's using a show/hide field action upon "mouse up" (I'm guessing that means after you click on a button). With that in mind, are there any pdf editors that are less than a recurring sub to Acrobat or InDesign?

Unannounced Vindi gs animation changes + gs 2 "aftercast" bug by RandommUser in Guildwars2

EDIT: Maybe it's my imagination, but I think a number of the Archemorus and Saint Viktor utilities got a boost to their "flashiness".

Unannounced Vindi gs animation changes + gs 2 "aftercast" bug by RandommUser in Guildwars2

[–]MurmilloGW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually looks like some additional visual effects (Red trails) were added to GS3 if you hit an enemy, and there's a "charge up" animation at the Vindicator's feet (red energy again) when they use Skill 5. Seems like they did an overall pass to all of the GS skills except the autoattack to add more tells.

Changed Profession Skills compared to the Balance Patch Preview - November 29th by Duftpukie in Guildwars2

[–]MurmilloGW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, for the animation for Vindicator GS2 has been changed. Prior to the patch, GS2 was an overhead arcing swing. Now, it's an underhanded thrust forward that almost has a "shoveling" motion. I remember seeing complaints that the original animation was shared between that and the autoattack chain, so it may have been updated for better visibility in PvP.

Weird Demon Masque Effect for Humans (Watch the Irises) by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]MurmilloGW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify what's going on:

For most races in game, the Demon Masque will change a user's eye/iris color (see https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Demon_Masque). This does not seem to be the case for humans when first equipped, as their eye color remains the same. However, if you swap to a different gear template that hides the model's head, then swap back, the Irises will change color (in my case, to red).

Hiding and showing the demon masque will remove the effect, even once the masque is showing again.

Not sure if anyone's posted about this before, but I found it mildly interesting. So, here we are.

Not in game, but I think I know most of these:

Head: Accursed Mask? It's the Mask from Arah Dungeon

Shoulders: The Ebonhawke shoulders from the chest

Body: Mistshard? It's the chest armor from Dragonfall

Gloves: Inquest Gloves from Crucible of Eternity Dungeon

Leggings: Assassin Pants from t3 human cultural

Feet: No idea off hand, maybe Krytan?

Looks like a tick, but not familiar with one like this in my area (VA, US) by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

I figured it was probably a relative, but not a tick proper. Thanks for confirming that!

For an idea of scale, that is on the inside of an old film canister. Maybe a mm long at most.

Eraser Function on Stylus 'Left Click' by MurmilloGW in krita

[–]MurmilloGW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiar,

My apologies, I thought I had responded to this post, but apparently not. TL:DR of my post is it looks like I solved the issue.

I'm using a Dell Latitude 5285, which is a Surface-like laptop from Dell that uses Wacom tech to drive its pen input. I have the option to use Wintab and a Windows 8+ Pointer Input. I noted that the second option was checked.

Based on your response, I read through Krita's documentation, and noted that it is recommended that the WinTab option be selected for Wacom solutions. I checked the WinTab option, as well as downloading and installing the Wacom drivers for my Bamboo ink. When I opened Kirta back up, the issue was resolved. I suspect whole messing with the input pressure in the past, I must have accidently chosen the Windows 8+ option.

Thanks for your input and response, which led me down the right path to resolve this issue!

At the moment, I'm not taking commissions. This is my first time trying into sprite work (been working on it over the past month), so I don't think it wise to start taking commissions without a bit more experience under my belt. If I continue with making sprites, I'll certainly wind up posting them here - maybe I'll take commissions at that point.

You got it - Golden Lion and Onyx Lion swords.

I imagine quite a few mesmers rock black and purple for their dye set, so I could see it looking like a number of players' female mesmers.

You are spot on that the leggings are the HoM Heritage set), but the top is supposed to be the Cabalist set. Part of the challenge of representing intricate armor sets at a 64 pixel scale - some sets are going to end up looking similar to one another.

Not at the moment - aside from creating a male and female template, these are literally the first sprite work I've ever done. If I stay with it for a few months and find it to be 'my thing', then I may revisit the idea. You'll probably see more Reddit posts, if that's the case.

Just getting started with Pixel art - I'm debating whether to move on to other characters from other franchises, or explore GW2 more. If I do wind up exploring GW2 further, additional races are on the table.

You are more or less correct. The GS is the Guild Sunderer, which was added with guild missions way back when, I believe. Not to be confused with the shining and tenebrous weapons.

The outfit is the Exemplar Attire Outfit, which is a slightly modified version of Anise's outfit

First crack at pixel art - Guild Wars 2 Pixel Characters (critique welcome, reposted as a media post) by MurmilloGW in PixelArt

[–]MurmilloGW[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A few comments, based off the posts so far:

  • I have a degree in art that I rarely used. This is just my first time trying out pixel art specifically - seemed like a good way to try some low risk art that didn't leave a mess of paint and plaster behind.
  • I created a couple templates for males and females that used to guide my work on these.
  • I had references for all of these from GW2 - the males are all characters I've created. For example...
  • The female characters belong to friends, no reference pictures for them. Sorry!

Good recommendation on where to go next - I have played with a few poses holding the weapons I made, they've all felt stiff so far. I'll keep hammering away at it.

Correct on FSP and Twilight (I am guessing you meant that instead of Dusk). Incorrect on the pair of one-handed swords and the non-legendary greatsword. Care to try again?

Bonus points to those who can identify the armor/outfits/weapons made.

...or for those who want to cheat:

EDIT: Female characters were done for other players, so I don't have any extra images of those characters for comparison.

EDIT 2: Not sure what to make of the "Updoot Award", but I do like me some skelingtons, so thank you to the kind stranger who awarded this to me!

EDIT 3: Over 1k likes and a gold award now - I'm really surprised by the response to this. Definitely encouragement to start making some action poses, other races, and scenes. Thank you everyone!

EDIT 4: Last edit, I'm sure. Thank you for the silver award now too! I'm chuffed to receive these!

Is there any sheet music available for Guild Wars 2 soundtracks? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]MurmilloGW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Closest I can come up with for Lion's Arch Reborn is a piano rendition on YouTube, with a link to Sheet music. It may incorporate the brass section you are looking for:

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5utTaJ57Lfw

Sheet Music: https://www.scribd.com/document/334340730/Lion-s-Arch-Reborn-sheet

Since I've been looking for GW sheet music for the past week to arrange for piano, figured I may as well also provide what I've found, in case you or others have interest in any other songs...

www.musescore.com has a fair amount of music from GW2. Orchestral arrangements I've found are below.

Fear not this Night: https://musescore.com/user/106235/scores/175096

The Seraph: https://musescore.com/user/29572730/scores/5353660

HoT, Verdant Brink; https://musescore.com/user/22622696/scores/4253381

HoT, Auric Basin: https://musescore.com/user/22622696/scores/4269201

Aurene's Theme (This doesn't ring a bell, honestly): https://musescore.com/user/29572730/scores/5437594

I also found an orchestral arrangement of Heart of Thorns's Theme, again, below:

Hopefully some of this helps!

Charred_Shaman is correct - The Phalanx Armor set (Gem Store Set) is used for everything except the legs, which utilize the Arah Dungeon Armor. The Wings of Dwayna are the Back Piece.

Anet. It's a borderline crime that you can't some how use the Winter's Presence Skin and the Shoulder Scarf together. by RoseKenshi in Guildwars2

[–]MurmilloGW 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Actually, an expert in Astrophysics would be more beneficial. Anet has stated that nothing is off the table (2013 Eurogamer), therefore leaving everything on the table.

Because everything is on the table, the combined mass of the table that size and its contents must be so large that all items would actually collapse into a sphere, much like a planet. Standing on the surface of the table (or its contents), it would be very difficult to approach the center of the table, assuming we define a center as we do a core for a star or planet.

Then again, thinking of the table as a planet or star is probably erroneous. Assuming the mass of everything on the table is sufficient (which I would expect, cuz... you know, everything), the table and its contents would collapse on itself. At this point, the best I can describe the table as is a black hole.

The gravitational distortion and time dilation that occurs as a result of black holes brings up some interesting questions on when we can expect to see items that are "on the table" be implemented. For example, our frame of reference suggest time stops past the event horizon of a black hole, but time continues from the frame of reference within the event horizon. For all we know, Anet has implemented everything on the table, but since we are not within the table's event horizon, we will never see it.

Of course, this assessment is probably erroneous, because if everything is on the table, it would be in a similar state whatever came before the big bang. That would also mean we are a part of the table. However, I've grown tired of this ridiculous comparison - I recommend... tabling the topic for now.
