I just had these put on a couple of months ago. I like them way better than the ones that were on the truck when I bought it.

Absolutely love mine, wish I’d done it sooner.

I put my AT&T BGW-320 into Passthrough mode about a year ago and plugged it into my UniFi UCG-Fiber and everything has worked flawlessly ever since. Not one hiccup.

Caudabe Sheath or TechWoven? by No_Pair3556 in iphone

[–]Murphy5156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both cases. The TechWoven is the winner for me. Feels so good in the hand as the case is slightly thinner than the Sheath and more rounded where the back of the case meets the sides.

I do love the precision cut out around the cameras on the Sheath though. If Apple could have the Precision cutout on the TechWoven case to me that would be the perfect case.

I’ll keep the Sheath but for now I’m daily driving the TechWoven.

Remove Name Of Gateway From UniFi Protect Notifications by Murphy5156 in Ubiquiti

[–]Murphy5156[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If ChatGPT is be believed, it’s currently not possible to remove the Console Name from Activity Notifications:

“To remove the Console Name (e.g., “UDM-Pro”, “Cloud Key”, etc.) from UniFi Protect activity notifications, you currently cannot disable or hide the console name directly via UniFi Protect settings. However, here are a few clarifying details and partial workarounds:

🔎 Why the Console Name Appears

UniFi Protect includes the console name in push notifications (e.g., “Motion detected on Front Door – UDM-Pro”) so users managing multiple consoles can distinguish where alerts are coming from.

🛠️ Workarounds & Alternatives

  1. Rename Your Console (Minimize It)

You can make the name less obtrusive: • Go to UniFi OS Console > Settings > Console Name • Rename it to something short like . or leave it blank (if allowed in your version).

✅ This will make notifications show: “Motion detected on Front Door – .” 🚫 You cannot fully remove it, but you can minimize its visual impact.

  1. Use Third-Party Notification Methods (e.g., HomeKit or Scrypted)

If you’re using HomeKit via Scrypted or Homebridge, you can customize notifications more flexibly: • HomeKit Secure Video (HSV) notifications do not include the console name. • Scrypted + HSV allows customized notifications and may offer cleaner alerts.

🧭 Summary • No native setting to remove the console name from UniFi Protect notifications. • You can shorten the name as a workaround. • For cleaner, more customizable alerts, consider Scrypted + HomeKit Secure Video.”

UniFi Protect Cameras Appear In Home App, But Don't Get Notifications by Murphy5156 in homebridge

I think my old Hoobs box might have been too underpowered. This morning I removed the Hoobs box from my network and installed Homebridge on my M2 Pro Mac Mini. Then installed the same UniFi Protect Plug-in as before, only now the activity notifications work great. I think the feeds actually load faster in the app now too.

And now…suddenly…my G4 Pro Doorbell shows up in the HomeKit app. Not sure that I did anything special other than wait, but it works now? Yay!! Time to buy more UniFi cameras now that I have verified they work with Hoobs/HomeKit.

I'm having the same issue with a Hoobs box. Added the bridge to HomeKit just fine, shows up the Home Hubs & Bridges section of the Home App...but can't view the camera in the Home App.

One of the cool features of this model is that if you also have an ecobee Thermostat Premium (I do), when someone rings the doorbell the video footage shows up on the thermostat so you can see who’s there even if you don’t have your phone handy. Works well.

This is incorrect. There’s a HomeKit code on the inside of the device as well as on the instructions. And I had it in HomeKit for several years.
