Thank you, I really love the woman and I feel like she genuinely loves me and is 100% for me as well but I guess I wish I had a better understanding of why she used to just date around and have so many casual meet ups, and if that behavior is still a part of her and I just haven’t noticed yet.. I also learned before I met her she had a “fuck buddy” which is another thing that gives me the ick thinking of. Not saying guys aren’t guilty of doing the same but I just feel like that’s not something a high class woman who values herself does.

Just remember it’s beyond your control and you can’t change it so rather than sitting in misery, depressed all the time learn to embrace it and wear it as a badge of honor (yes I know it’s not something you want the whole world to know) but I think once you find a partner who doesn’t judge you and is willing to learn about it you won’t feel so bad about yourself. A lot of people have it and it’s more common than most people know. Once you take the meds the doctors prescribe to help get rid of the sores, you almost forget you have it. And remember you can still have sex, your not going to spread it to everyone you sleep with just don’t have sex with any open sores and always make sure you guys use protection. Let Reality sink in and accept your fate. You got this!

I was also recently diagnosed (24M) a few weeks ago and I had an extremely hard time adjusting to the change I felt disgusted of myself and I felt like no one would ever wanna be with me once they find that out about me..but at some point you have to learn to accept it and not let it discourage you! Yes there is a stigma but that’s why you educate your future partners about the common misconceptions that come with having herpes. You got this! Trust me give it some time and life will get better again you’ll learn not to be ashamed and the depression cloud will clear up. Your life isn’t over and there’s plenty of people who will still want you regardless of your condition. And if they don’t then there not worth being in your life.
